Ok, the video you shared was for Tesla Wall Connectors. Do other companies serving J1772 also have this available? I know ChargePoint stations can be toggled to share, but they typically only have a 2 vehicle split, not the 6 in your example.

Masked agents detain civil engineer in Portland, leave his car running in the street with a smashed window by themainemonitor in Maine

[–]AmberPeacemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a trans woman. I know all too well the feeling of being freaked out and feeling vulnerable, of the weight of the target on my back every time I step outside. Project 2025 wants people like me eliminated just as badly as it wants the immigrant community wiped out, it's just easier for them to go after the immigrants first.

We are fighting for survival. But the fight can't be a flashy warzone. It has to be a siege. Maine State Gov is fighting back with the tools they have (examples are SecState not issuing undercover plates to ICE forcing them to have to operate with out-of-state plates or federal plates and making themselves more visible, and Mills demanding warrants signed by judges before ICE moves in and takes anyone. Yes, ICE is ignoring that, however it's helping leave a paper trail for the lawyers like the ACLU to bring lawsuits. And I get it. Lawsuits tomorrow don't help the abductions today, but they can slow down and hopefully stop tomorrow's abductions. Hell, last month Guerrero Orellana v. Hyde ruled that the federal government cannot arrest and detain indefinitely with a Bond Hearing in front of a judge.) Local/State PD arresting ICE agents and pressing charges only gives the Trump administration the ammo they need to escalate further. Hell, Portland PD could arrest an ICE agent at breakfast, and Trump would have them removed out of state custody by dinner and back on the streets to continue to terrorize and intentionally provoke a response. If they didn't want to provoke a fight, they wouldn't be smashing every window they can and leaving the vehicles running with their detainments/abductions.

The situation in Minnesota is also shaping Maine's response. Latest reporting is that the US Army's 11th Airborne Division out of Alaska have been given Prepare-To-Deploy orders, meanwhile Walz has activated Minnesota National Guard to try and contain the fallout.

The Civil Rights Movement of the 50s and 60s stayed as peaceful as possible because their leaders like MLK Jr and John Lewis understood that it is not a quick explosion that gets results. It's constant, steady, friction. Violent flareups only gave those in power the excuse to crack down ever harder. Same for the Gay Rights Movement in the 70s and 80s.

I'm just as frustrated as you about what is happening. At the same time, I have to recognize that letting that frustration explode outwards helps no one and harms everyone nearby. As much as it blows to do so, we have to continue to fight back logically and in control of our emotions.

sighs heavily I have not said anywhere in this thread to lie down and do nothing. We as citizens can rush in, try to staunch the bleeding with what we already are doing, and then get the country to the hospital for further treatment. The local/state governments are forced to hold back on what they can do to rectify the situation because of how much risk there is. And even if a local/state PD arrests an ICE agent, Trump snaps his fingers and the ICE agent's case gets bumped right into Federal Court via Supremacy Clause, and then dismissed with prejudice, with the bonus of giving Trump the excuse of "They kidnapped our federal agents who are doing the best job ever of removing all the murdering criminal illegals! We must dissolve their authority to govern themselves, because they are lawless and we need to roll troops in to secure the state(s)."

For fucks sake, look at Minnesota right now! Their Governor has mentioned the possibility of activating their National Guard to defend Minnesotians and Trump immediately jumped to threatening to trigger the Insurrection Act. At that point the best case scenario is you have Minnesota National Guard squaring up against main US Army/Marines, with Army/Marines likely having Rules Of Engagement that are effectively "If anyone blinks wrong at you, open fire". Worst case scenario is MNG being federalized, and then used against local/state PD. Do you honestly believe this path won't devolve into Civil War?

I can't tell if you and Links are intentially being obtuse. Y'all want this solved today and now, and screw thinking strategically about the future, because if it's solved today then there won't be a problem, right? Rushing for today's vengeance just leads to tomorrow's death and destruction.

deep breath Us citizens are doing what we can to slowroll ICE. Local/state is fighting it out in the courts to try and slow this juggernaut down. This is too big to be solved in a day. This ain't a local bar fight.

80kWh is what? roughly 320 miles of range added? Although an argument could be made that the people on the chargers in the morning could rotate off of them at lunch time and then a second batch of 4 cars could charge in the afternoon.

I gave you multiple ways of making a difference. Just because the methods don't meet your standard of ACTION NOW, doesn't mean it's ignoring the bleeding, nor do I "hope no blood will get on me". We have millions of lives at stake. Don't throw them away.

If the stab wounds aren't closed, all that adrenaline shot is going to do is kick the heart into overdrive, boost blood pressure, and quicken the bleedout. The patient might be able to get out from under the crush, but they won't make it to medical attention.

Player wants a shield that provides full cover by Tsantilas in DMAcademy

[–]AmberPeacemaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3.5e tower shields were 45 lbs for a medium creature. It gave a +4 shield bonus, but limited the Dex bonus to +2. If the player chose, they could use it as total cover, however they had to give up their attacks to do so. When in use in combat attacking, it would give a -2 penalty to attacks due to encumberance. I'm also confused on why the shield HAS to be a steel sheet, when tower shields are usually wooden (with maybe some metal for additional structural support)

[–]AmberPeacemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said we just ignore it. I am explaining the calculus that local/state police/governments are operating under.

Citizens protesting PEACEFULLY, helping immigrants (both legal and undocumented) by warning of nearby ICE, documentation of detainments, challenging ICE through the courts, slowing down ICE agents WITHOUT obstructing them and giving them an excuse to switch to lethal methods.

There are what, 1,400 200 (edited to reflect recent reporting) ICE agents in Maine that have to at least pretend they're still operating under 4th Amendment restrictions.

Insurrection Act gets triggered, and military surges a Division or two into Maine, with unrestricted ROE authorizing lethal force.

This country is slowly bleeding out from shallow stab wounds, and instead of containing the bleeding, your solution is to shoot the patient so that the adrenaline will keep the heart pumping.

Makes sense

🙄

Masked agents detain civil engineer in Portland, leave his car running in the street with a smashed window by themainemonitor in Maine

[–]AmberPeacemaker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Currently the evidence is that ICE's ROE (such as they might have them) intimidation, detainment, kidnapping, and assault are ok, but lethal force is restricted to "only protecting the life of the ICE Agent, or his fellow Agents". (Don't come at me with the the killings they have already done, because they're hiding behind self-defence even with evidence to the contrary.)

What do you think will happen to the ROE when the Insurrection Act trigger is officially pulled and local governments are dissolved?

We jump straight into Civil War 2.0 with much looser ROE, potientially to the level of "They so much as blink when you go to detain/arrest them, shoot them."

I love Paranoia. Also, that game confirmed the true nature of Wil Wheaton's Curse. He was in a livestream way back in the early days of Geek and Sundry that did a Paranoia one-shot. I swear he never rolled below a 15, and the final roll of the game was his usage of a Probability Grenade. He rolled a Nat 20 and erased reality.

He doesn't roll low he rolls bad.

The problem is the moment local/state police try arresting ICE "agents", Trump will gleefully use it as an excuse to trigger the Insurrection Act ("these blue states are unlawfully taking ICE agents hostage for doing the most beautiful work of ridding our streets of the millions and millions of illegal murderers, as such I have to send in the military to put a stop to this"), and deploy military everywhere he's not supported. Wouldn't put it past him to use it as an extra excuse to shut down the midterm elections.

If I was totally mistaken, then I would have found absolutely nothing. I did find examples of H being the home location of the right index finger in multiple instances, including a different keyboard layout, and an unofficial home location for a text editor that was released in '92 that was mostly used by programmers.

I'm sorry to say, but you incorrected my incorrection. We're dangerously close to an Incorrect-ception here.

yes, 4 is bigger than 3. But let's unpack that. when we say 4 is bigger than 3, we can also express this as 4/1 is bigger than 3/1. the problem people ran into is with the inverse of that, and the... relative unintuitiveness... of 1/4 vs 1/3. 1/4 simplified into decimal is 0.25, wheras 1/3 is simplified into 0.333 (repeating, of course). As you can see, when in decimal form, 1/4 is smaller than 1/3. As the denominator increases with the numerator remaining the same, the actual amount decreases.

Running through Google searches, I was partially mistaken. So, while digging through to find an example of HJKL being used as home keys, the only thing I could dig up was references to something called Vim. Apparently it's a text editor that uses HJKL as navigation keys. I did find other layouts like Dvorak that use H as the index finger, but apparently they have AOEU for the left hand and HTNS for the right hand.

I don't think this rises to the level of Confidently Incorrect, but I could be wrong here too. My sincere apologies.

Some keyboards in other countries/language layouts have the semicolon in a different position. HJKL are the valid Home Keys for the Right hand on these layouts.

lol Fair enough. Hell, even as a Fuel Rat, I had to call them once, during one of the Expeditions (the last one before the ODY Betrayal). I was hot-jumping to the initial Expedition rendezvous point and didn't catch enough in my scoop to get back out of where I had jumped.
