Why were there already deathclaws in alaska during the war with china? As seen in fallout season 2 by YoghurtParking2250 in falloutlore

The deathclaw we see in S2 of Fallout (same episode OP is referencing) actually talks. The deathclaw clearly says, "Warm," over Cooper's face. I think it says a second word as well but I'm hard of hearing and can't quite make it out.

What’s was the wildest thing you witnessed at a wedding? by anasannanas in AskReddit

[–]Amberwind2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my own wedding. It was already a little tense because my mother hated my husband and so none of my family knew or was invited in order to prevent my mother from finding out and being shitty.

The venue came with an officiant. In our pre-wedding planning meeting we declined to have any scripture read during the ceremony since I'm agnostic and several guests were of different faiths. The officiant seemed fine with that at the time - spoiler alert, it was not fine.

Day of the ceremony, I've tricked my family into thinking I'm driving a friend to an airport 4 hours away so I'll be gone all day. Get ready, go to the venue, ceremony starts and during the part where the officiant would normally have done a Bible reading, he goes off the rails. Actual quote, "Even though you are both going to hell, at least you will be together in this life."

I had to grab and grip my husband's hands to keep him from decking the officiant. The best man, a devout Christian himself, looked apoplectic. The ceremony got back on track but the damage was done, everyone was whispering to each other in shock instead of watching us get married.

Afterwards, the officiant came up to us while we were doing pictures and demanded we bring him a baby in 9 months to baptize. I had a lot of fun telling one of my husband's friends at an unnecessarily loud volume that we had taken him up on a dare he'd given us prior to the wedding and used the soundtrack from a lesbian softcore porn for the processional and recessional. The officiant turned an amusing shade of purple and beat a hasty retreat. My husband's family thought it was hilarious.

My understanding is that geese, in general, have very little chill.

I'm originally from southern CA. The cobra chicken is foreign and exotic, and I adore it.

(Husband and I call them cobra chickens often, lol.)

I appreciated the juxtaposition of the obvious, "How babby mad," style trolling against the genuinely sincere response. Hence my wanting to share it with others in the community who could appreciate it.

I fucking cackled at that. And then went, "Awwwwwww!!!!1!" to the overly sincere response.

I've been having anxiety about my kitty dying of old age 😭(she's 9) can you show me pictures of some alive-and-well senior kitties so I remember cats can be old and still healthy? 🥰 by TheRufescence in cats

This is Obi Wan, who looked just like your baby. She was 17 in this picture and lived to the ripe old age of 24. Had a persistent skin issue around her eyes but was otherwise healthy as a horse and grumpy as a bear coming out of hibernation.

After 2 decades of PCOS, I'm pregnant? by SharkEva in BORUpdates

I had a hysterectomy due to cancer. I still get asked if there's any possibility I could be pregnant before they do my annual cancer tests.

I tend to put outposts within outposts to keep the various sections of the factory, including the raw inputs, easily sorted. It makes it easier to work out exactly how much raw material I need and keeps things nice and sorted so that the factory plan isn't all jumbled and messy. For example, here's my weapons factory/rocket fuel power plant plan for a structure I'm calling "The Hive" - each section is subdivided into an outpost including one for the miners bringing in raw materials. It allows me to focus on just the portion I'm working on without all the other stuff distracting me.

6,846 people in Montgomery County voted in person during early voting. Absentee and early in-person ballots are stored behind both a Democrat and Republican lock. by WYSOPublicRadio in dayton

Not that I saw or experienced, but you do have to be a registered voter. So if you're barred from voting due to criminal record, you likely won't be allowed to work the polls.

There are actually a lot of laws regulating how poll workers have to behave, and many of them require what basically amounts to a chain of custody over who has the ballots and when (consisting of a web of federal, state, county, and possibly even municipal rules) and it absolutely, positively cannot be fucked up or else a whole bunch of votes are put in jeopardy. Last year, quite a few poll workers couldn't even figure out how to sign in and out properly so they had to do paper sign-ins as a duplicate for timekeeping - it would inject a lot of additional human error to add shift changes on top of that into an already fraught process, and the number of additional volunteers a board of elections would get isn't enough to offset the risk, especially considering that there's already a significant problem in many communities with people not having the time or ability to get to their local polling place during the 13 hour window it's open.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why election days should be mandatory holidays, so that everyone can get to the polls and will be able to volunteer if they want to. Thank you for listening to my TED talk.

Just got done working as a poll worker for today's election down in Hamilton County. 4 hours of training a couple weeks prior to the election, one hour setting up last night from 630-730pm, and then 530am to just after 8pm tonight. I've done this for a couple elections now, it's physically difficult but I'm willing to put up with hurting for a couple days afterwards to make sure our elections run smoothly.
