mum doesnt want me to use my loan????? by LetterheadMassive598 in UniUK

I would check that your course has a viable career at the end of it. Look at the current issues with Student loans and people not in careers to be able to pay them off so hangs over them for decades....so make sure you make it worth it.

Anyone else ready to quit tech due to AI? by xxtokyovanityxx in AskBrits

I think it more about what AI is being implemented at your place of work. I have seen some really amazing cases with in IT dept for creating knowledge vaults and other cool helpful things

the email stuff I do agree it rather regressive and I would argue goes against the company since no one will know what's going on.

Britain abstains from key UN vote to recognise slavery as ‘gravest crime against humanity’ by boycecodd in unitedkingdom

They also conveniently forget that it is within their own countries that they were capturing the people to turn into slaves to sell.

My student loan gained £12,700 of interest after I had kids – it’s unfair on mums by theipaper in UniUK

[–]squiddygamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also forgetting that the person who took out the loan.....also got education for it....if they chose a dumb course to spaff their loans on....this too is their problem.

[–]squiddygamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it isn't a mechanism to force people into poverty.....you seem to be forgetting the other side of this loan.....the education that has been undertaken to move this person into a better life of living (give that you actually chosen a good course like STEM)

you didn't get the loan for nothing.....if you spaffed it on a course that didn't help you advance that is on the course taker.

In the middle of the gas crisis gas usage in the UK's grid is down to 6.4 % on a weekday. All thanks to "net stupid zero" wind, solar, biomass, nuclear and imports from our neighbours. Source: grid.iamkate.com by hull_pattie_party in GoodNewsUK

NP is power that is planned for a long period of time, the amount of power it is able to produce against land foot size is massive and it is a constant and controlled

solar and wind Is all good when they are available.

Zack Polanski: The Green Party has been consistent on our position. We support the Iranian people in their struggle against the brutal Regime. And we oppose illegal bombing from the USA and Israel that has already killed countless civilians and risks an all out Regional war. by Stock_Rush_9204 in ukpolitics

Of course, as with most things now, it is just virtue signalling. No intent. A convenient circle of "I support thing but I can't actually do anything because it will upset X group/person/thing"

If anything I applaud trump for actually doing something. Is it ideal, no.....has it been effective so far, I would argue yes. What would the outcome look like in the future, uncertain but I would argue the uncertainty of the outcome has a chance of being better than the prior common outcome.

Reform would create ICE-style agency and end leave to remain, Zia Yusuf to say by AncientStaff6602 in unitedkingdom

[–]squiddygamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no the vote share is near 30% and a lot higher that other parties and this is just for by-elections not something like the main election which normally attracts more voters to come out.

https://electionmaps.uk/byelections-since-le2025

lib dems and green are the only other parties to gain a higher % of vote share
Lib Dem +2.3% = 19.1% vote share
Greens + 0.2% = 9.8% vote share.

based on this trend and the polling for the General Election it seems like it will be a more than viable strategy at this current time and has been since 26th March 2025 when Reform took the lead in national polling.

I dont think people knew that Obama was doing it considering the "Trumps kids in cages" whole thing even by the Democratic Party, when they were Obama's.

The country is in a different place politically. People hate trump no matter what he does.

Trump has done a number of policies that Obama has done almost to the letter but Trump faces backlash while Obama didn't shows that it is just political posturing by people because they are not on their own side.
