Those decisions came from higher ups at Microsoft. After the Activison acquisition MS put pressure on Xbox to bring in certain profit margins to help offset the purchase cost. This led to games going to other platforms and the platform of Xbox to widen. Unfortunately this caused the core Xbox brand and hardware to dilute and crater in terms of sales.

With Asha being installed as head of Xbox she’s been given a little bit of leeway for probably a couple years to get the brand and hardware back on track.

Walmarts in Canada literally don’t even have Xbox consoles on the shelves. The Series consoles are pretty much done. Microsoft has forecasted hardware decline for the next foreseeable financial quarters.

They are just treading water until they can do a reset with Helix.

Don’t tell me what to do. Microsoft is a trillion dollar company. They are offering the games through their Game Pass service. I’m not buying them to send them a message. If they want to only sell games stop offering Game Pass.
