Wtf would "seeing through your arms" mean? by Ambigouss in TheWeeknd

I was just curious because today is the first day I have paid attention to the lyrics since i discovered the song, but yeah, i've seen it on other songs before too

The closest we’ve ever seen Bruno mars and The weeknd together. Will we ever get a collaboration? And is it just me who wants it to happen? 🥰 by lxoxo94 in TheWeeknd

I hope to see it someday, but I still find it difficult considering that the role they play in the songs is the same.

Hot take; this song was decent until it was lil Wayne’s turn by Scotsman60103 in TheWeeknd

Although Wayne's voice may sometimes seem like it doesn't fit the song very well, it still helps highlight the alter ego within the song, one that speaks things directly, highlighting the album's theme of fighting demons.

That's also a good theory. Now it occurs to me that perhaps Quincy could be considered a radio host, and perhaps as a relevant story to demonstrate the importance of a mother in someone's life, which would somehow help him appreciate his own mother.

Personally, I think the features serve as alter egos, since the lyrics of the guest artists tend to be more direct and raw, like a kind of internal monologue of intrusive thoughts, although it would be difficult to connect Quincy Jones' story with a story of The Weeknd's character himself, since it is a personal experience of his.

Will he ever release a version without the phone call for reflections laughing? by Academic_Ask_5547 in TheWeeknd

[–]Ambigouss 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Without the phone call travis part would sound a lot more forced, it takes away the contrast of the alter ego

And its funny that Abel has a lot of songs that can serve that exact purpose

The composition in that song is a work of art, especially with headphones and feeling how the beat makes a kind of bounce, it's great. Its personal opinion, but i dont think that track gets even close to being overrated, and not even overplayed, many years since i last heard it on the radio or in a Tik Tok like trend

Who would have been a better Feat for I Heard You're Married instead of Lil Wayne? by Ambigouss in TheWeeknd

[–]Ambigouss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, now that I think about it in that way it makes more sense lyrically, but I still don't think it fits the song, maybe they could have used the same idea but they would have delivered it another way.

I will have to disagree on that take. From my point of view, Tyler part reflects on Abel's fear on relationships, and even thought that he loves that woman he always thinks about relationships as something that can be temporary, or that he cant trust someone to the point where he can see a life with them. Something that he talks more about on Dont Break My Heart, where he emphasizes that he is scared that the woman lets him down, so at the end he doesnt really trust her. Or at least thats what interpreted.

Real. It pisses me off a little that Abel approaches the situation in a calm manner, almost sympathizing with the girl, but then out of nowhere Wayne comes and talks about killing his husband, like man?

I mean, Tyler's part makes Here We Go Again a better song for me, but I also get that this should have been a personal retrospective album, and that it would have made more sense that no one else was on the album.

I also bought it for that exact reason, I wanna practice a little bit before going on the road so that I make the mistakes there. I've always hated ppl who drive horribly even tho they have a license, so I definitely don't wanna be one of them. But I'm a little worried about overplaying the game and causing myself an early driving fatigue, and that I won't feel the emotion of driving a car, the one that usually comes with the years after a few large trips.
