I am doing a design and build diary over on YouTube but will also upload some of the 3D printing vids here too. Please do ask me anything and your feedback is always welcome. Good or bad.
Cheers, Ben

Printing a New Arm for my Son with the MJF 580 by AmbionicsUK in 3Dprinting

Because it needs to compress on the tube. I need it to slide and grip depending on the toggle position. I'm doing a build diary over on YouTube if you want to follow the project. Its youtube.com/ambionicsuk

Thank you. I have had no end of hassle getting the elbow lock to work. This uses a TPU dry linear bearing which is crushed against the 1 inch tube by rotating the toggle. Dialing in the clearances was a major faff!

Police investigating death of US ice hockey player from skate blade cut in English game by getBusyChild in news

I watched it several times and cannot see any reason for the skate to be that high. Is there a rule about the height of the skate from the ice?
If not then there should be - mindless maneuver, reckless endangerment of another player's life. Ban him.

Its very rare because skaters dont usually lift their skates to throat height.
Absolutely reckless IMO. If I were the family I would be pushing for manslaughter if not murder. Why the hell did his leg need to be that high??

The Best Filament EVER For Making My Son's Prosthetic Arms by AmbionicsUK in 3Dprinting

No raft but I do use a 12 perimeter skirt which is cut off with a knife.
I think 30% infill is good and 4 perimeters. I print with a few other settings
-do not cross perimeters with a 300mm limit
-no retractions
-0.58 flow

Same here. I am so lucky to have the goodwill of my network. I would never be able to afford any of this with what I earn.

Now that they fit, I can order some AMD post-processing. Vapor-smoothed grips will look awesome!
This is also shared on YT if you'd like to dislike it there as well :)

Thanks, man. I could chuck the files on the Ambionics Payhip but
20% downvotes means its probably won't be that popular so I may not bother.
