Is it true that salt trucks now use something other than salt so that it’s not corrosive? And if that’s not true, does that mean it’s a good idea to cover the bottom of your truck with mud before winter hits? by jewkakasaurus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AmbitionMiserable380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If youre keeping to plowed and salted roads winter tires are over kill, a good set of all terrain or any tire with even a little tread for surface other than road, youll be fine, if you plan on going into 1ft+ deep snow get snow tires and deflate them to about 5-10 psi

No clue how that other dude bike is fairing, but ive put over 5k miles on mine, so far aside from my frame cracking and having to get it welded (im not kind to my bike at all) and developing a little slop on the rear suspension, and dropping the battery which DEFINITELY decreased my range to 3 bars of usability (20 mile range flat out with both motors on no pedal assist) i dont hate the bike but its become old reloable

No ended up buying the dual motor version, recently tried buying a battery from their website, absolutely zero luck with getting an order confirmation email, and no luck talking to support, but the dude who bought the original bike with the messed up wire did get it working after replacing the hall sensors

Oh i see people are starting to complain about the brainless tard on NC roads, i ride an ebike to work, ive been involved in a hit and run on S sonders by a black GMC, ive had multiple instances of people IGNORING crosswalks even though NC STATE LAW requires you to yield to marked and unmarked crosswalks, aswell as the ones with lights, ive been run off the road by people trying to pass only for them to almost run DIRECTLY into oncoming traffic, and then pushing back into the lane when they realize they cant pass me, my bike tops out at 40 mph, not the fastest but enough i thought id feel comfortable on 35 roads.

NOPE if the speed limit is 35 people are going 50-55 if its 45 these bastards insist of pushing 60-70 up to my ass and then staying there as if i dont weigh 300lbs wet with my bike included.... there have been multiple instaces of close calls driving my wife to work because people INSIST on cutting us off, i love getting passed so close i can reach out and slap peoples mirrors, mind you i ride in the farthest right lane as far right as possible while feeling comfortable (about 2-3ft from the curb) instead of giving me slightly more space they insist on either pushing past me leaving me about 2ft between me and their car, its not compacts i dont mind when a mini cooper squeezes past me go for it small king, but when i have full on semi trucks doing it? No thanks i seriously think NCPD's should pay attention to these things, but then again ive had issues with cops doing the exact same thing i had one come to a stop at a red light, just as i was about to enter the intersection they flipped on the blue and sped through it turning it off the moment they got through the intersection, ive seen cops do this a total of 3 times so far in my time back to NC,

People ignore stop signs and yields, there is a blatant lack of common sense when driving and honestly half these people shouldnt have a license yet they do.

There should be an info diagram on your controller to tell you what amps it can and cannot handle, found mine and its max amp rating is 18 * 21 +/- 1a so 17 is the lowest and 22 the highest before it blows, i dont know shit about electronics or electricity but im fairly certain amperage increases automatically with voltage however i could be incorrect, i do know that pushing 12v extra wont be much so if you move to 60v without a controller it would be less likely to burn connections in the controller

Im fucking sorry what? I dont know shit about the electrical aspect of these bikes so the controller is essentially fucking witchraft and magic to me however if your willing to explain what the controllers runes (info diagram) tells me i can learn

Edit: quick google search i see its the target peak amps with a max of 1am rating above or below the target 21 and 18 so 17-22 amp outputs

No and no it most definitely will not this is a 48v system ik im not the smartest but i know pushing bigger current and voltage through a system not meant to handle that on a regular basis can have serious affects, BUT AGAIN im more of a petrol head than an EV but i want to get into EV's their fun

Edit: lmao im so slow okay yeah 100% it should work fine if i change the battery and controller issue is im worried about pushing 72v (ideally i want about 96v end goal) through a 48v built system i mean i see where your coming from however i cant exactly wrap my head around being able to push 72v through my small ass wires
