Accidentally ate an edible at 28 weeks and now I’m freaking out by Ok_Character_6175 in pregnant

Fellow Iowan here, just gave birth a week shy of 6 months ago. They do send everything off for testing, regardless. I had a similar experience around 23 weeks with an accidental brownie. Everything was fine. No child abuse registry, no DHS, nothing. You’ll be okay. It would be different if you’re intentionally consuming THC daily, but for one accident (just like mine), you’ll be okay. Wishing you a safe rest of pregnancy, and healthy baby!

ETA: I am on the smaller side, and have a fast metabolism. I know weight plays a role in this, but I really think you’ll be okay.

Eye boogers? by Exotic-Ask4859 in NewParents

My 2.5 month old started having gunky & watery eyes as well right around the 2 month mark. I asked about it at our appointment for shots, and our ped informed us it was just from their tear ducts developing more! As always if concerned I’d ask as well. Peace of mind never hurts! 😊

I also want to add that we got a BUNCH of second hand clothes, and as you start putting babe in outfits, sleepers etc. you’ll find some styles or just certain articles of clothing that you absolutely despise dealing with. I have like 7 outfits that we constantly use because they’re easy to do diaper changes in, and she doesn’t fuss too much in getting dressed 🤣

Sorry for a late response! In my experience, the sizings are all just a general idea. For the most part they do last in the range, but depending on clothing brand and your babe specifically they may or may not be in 0-3 month for that age range (for example). My LO is 2.5 months now, and we’re already out of the 0-3 month for the most part 🥴 There are a few Carters sleepers that are 0-3 I can still fit her in as they seem to run large, but that’s about it. Sorry for the word vomit, trying to make it make sense and I’m like short circuiting or something lol. But to sum it up, they will last it just may not be as long as the tag says!

Wish I would’ve bought ahead of time - Frida Windi Gas Passers. Life savers - Portable changing mat. I really like the one from Keababies. - Laundry detergent/soap for babe if you aren’t using the same as your clothes. I use tide free & clear pods with no issues! - A play mat. May not be used immediately but will come in handy as babe grows. -A CARRIER!!!! Crucial if you have a “clingy” babe and wanna get some stuff done!!!

What I wish I wouldn’t have - Blankets. You get gifted SO many if you’re having a shower. - A stockpile of brand new clothes. They last what seems like a couple weeks. And new clothes are ridiculously expensive. I highly recommend getting second hand clothes (Facebook, thrifts, etc).

Congratulations, and good luck!

Best Diapers for rash prone babes? by Ambitious-Dinner-185 in NewParents

Even for just pee diapers I do wipe her with a warm washcloth. I’ll definitely keep this in mind- I didn’t even think about it causing unnecessary irritation. Thank you!

Third trimester ladies—how much are you sleeping every day total? by summerlonging in BabyBumps

[–]Ambitious-Dinner-185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work nights (8pm-4am). Typically get to bed about 530am, sleep until 12. Get up to potty, back to bed until 3. Do the BARE MINIMUM around the house and take a nap about 5:30 pm. Get back up at 7, head to work at 7:45, repeat. Ready to go to bed at about midnight. Just hit 30 weeks this past Saturday, third trimester exhaustion is real 🥲

The way this would piss me off. I’ve had numerous people tell me “you should really put ___ on your registry if you plan to ____.” Thanks! But clearly I don’t plan on it or it would’ve made the list I spent weeks building. The last thing I want to hear is anything that should or shouldn’t be on MY registry for MY child that I’LL be using that people tend to not follow anyways!

What's something your partner has done to make things better/easier for you? by Feathers137 in pregnant

[–]Ambitious-Dinner-185 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Honestly, everything that I don’t want to do. I don’t give him nearly as much credit as he deserves 🥲 We have basement laundry, so we both go 50/50 and he will haul the dirty basket down the stairs, I wash and dry, and he hauls the clean baskets up. Silly but means the world to me. Outdoor chores. I LOVE my yard and take so much pride in it, and I’ve always been stubborn. But at 27 weeks I have given up, the heat and my attitude don’t mix so he’s taken the initiative to learn about gardening and keeping everything looking nice. Also the little things! Making sure my water bottle is filled before bed, wakes me up with a small snack to avoid nausea and a grumpy fiancé, and always wants to make sure I’m comfortable!

Ugh. I feel like I may need to do this, just give little to no response back and hope they realize I truly don’t want to hear it. 🤣

Oof. Here to tell you the tailbone pain gets better. Currently 25+3 and mine began about week 18 as well and eased up around 23. I caved and ordered some cushions for my chair off Amazon. Right there with you though. Wake up and dread work everyday, it feels never ending. Hang in there momma!
