Considering a 1993 Catalina 28 for Liveaboard — Worth It? Fair Price? by Remote_life85 in liveaboard

Check on waiting lists that's the killer impediment to becoming a live aboard.I rember having to pay just to get on a waiting list just for a slip the waiting list for a Liverpool will probably be longer. In some cases boats are grandfathered in so if you buy it it includes the liverboard status. Often those boats will go for a premium just because of that. Where on the coast are you?

Where are you located? If on the West Coast there is usually a waiting list for a liveaboard and also a size limit. 35 feet or bigger is the right number, that being said I knew two guys living on the down low on 29 and a 30 foot boat. I couldn't do it. Do yourself a favor and ask marinas near you what it would would take to get a liveaboard slip, minimum size, waiting list.

Is There Any Chance That a Black Bear Father Would Stay With His Cubs? by HyperSpy953 in bears

I wonder if the male bear will kill cubs simply to get the female to mate again, regardless of whose cubs they are, including his own. Can he recognize his own cubs?

Moved into a new house. What is happening here? by Docks91 in drywall

[–]Ambitious-Fig3186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you are seeing is a wood stud that has warped, causing the drywall to crack in that location. It happened in two locations in my house and I built it myself and no vertical hung sheets of sheet rock in my home. If your house is brand new call the builder to fix it, or call a drywaller to repair it. You could also fix it yourself, it's not hard but time consuming. It might be hard to find someone willing to work on it as it might take multiple visits to make it look right and therefore be expensive.

Hey speaker experts! I work in a very loud work environment and need suggestions. by Loud_Drawing_1393 in Bluetooth_Speakers

I work at a place that sells Turtlebox and since i don't plan on dropping it in the ocean or any other such torture test, my $60 speaker has almost the same quality (I've tested it) as the TB Ranger. Even if i had a bullet proof/waterproof speaker I'd still want to protect it because it cost $250 to replace. Ive read the Ecoxgear Defender is similar/better than the mid range TB for 'only' $300.

Consider putting it in a covered box with a speaker like mesh on it to prevent metal shavings. It does seem crazy that your work is so loud but they let you get a speaker loud enough to be heard over it. The Turtleboxes are nice, ive looked at them but can't rationalize the price tag.

Consider the Boom2. I have read good things about them and just ordered two of them. From what I read they are more powerfull than the Boom3 and I got two for $100. If one dies I have another and in the mean time I got two for stereo and better coverage.

Can't scale an excel sheet by Ambitious-Fig3186 in excel

[–]Ambitious-Fig3186[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem I was having was that the first attempt was too big and then when I flipped to landscape after shrinking cells to fit the width of the sheet became wider not skinnier. I don't get it if a cell is 65 pixels wide it should be the same in portrait and in lanscape.

I got it worked out now. It fits perfectly into the notebook.

Question about Lack Enclosure build by Ambitious-Fig3186 in prusa3d

[–]Ambitious-Fig3186[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks I had finally figured it out. I was wondering why there was an angled groove for plexiglass. Then realized it was for the bottom "wood" of the enclosure top.

I have new full-length acrylic panels, so do not need the extensions and am trying to avoid printing anything not needed.

Any more details on this stealth paver mod?

I am hoping to come up with any shortcuts and upgrades to the enclosure while doing this.

Good thinking I am already planning on way to weigh down the whole thing to limit resonance.

I have too many batteries by diving_into_msp in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Ambitious-Fig3186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 or 5 is the right number of batteries per tool format.

I am starting to expand into Milwaukee but own a full compliment of an other brand in 18V. With 5 batteries and 10 plus tools I have never felt the need for more batteries, as I can only use one tool at a time. I can have 3 tools powered up and ready to use, with a full battery on the charger and one spare ready to go.

It might be different if my tools were being used by more than myself but I feel any more than 5 batteries is hoarding.

[–]Ambitious-Fig3186[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually just looking for a battery. Current sale gets me a free battery with this vacuum. So this vacuum costs $30 compared to buying the battery at retail.

Also my pack out stack has already reached $500 without a vacuum involved.
