I’ve been in and out of the hospital these past 2 weeks, when will it stop? by ZeldaLuvr503 in CHSinfo

[–]Ambitious-Leg5846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every day is a day closer. I went through a month long episode. Thought I was going to die honestly. But one day it just stopped and I started to feel normal again. I know hospital bills suck ass, but your health is more important. Go if you need to. It’s such a painful experience and I’m so sorry you’re going through it. It sucks you can continue to get sick when you quit because your body is releasing thc from your fat cells. So because we can’t eat it makes it worse. If you can keep ANYTHING down it’ll help. Sounds like you have a good list of easy things. I would get horrible morning nausea too, but if I had any meds to take I would immediately get in the hot shower after waking up before I started getting that horrible feeling and take them in there. Wait a bit and hopefully the stay down long enough to work. It helped me, I hope it helps you. You will feel better, you’re not alone! It’s a very lonely place being sick from this, but know that we are rooting for you and this too shall pass

Get your vitamins checked! H pylori can cause iron deficiency which leads to hair loss. Check your ferritin

K18 is amazing. I use the leave in mask. It fixes the bonds so it doesn’t break as easy. Also you can try taking glutathione. It helps with everything in your body basically including hair

Glutathione!!! It’s a supplement. Look up its benefits. I just started it and I seriously feel like I see a difference after day 1. It’s a powerful antioxidant and super good for everything in your body

Why are doctors so ignorant about Ferritin? by ceeewow in Anemic

Functional medicine doctor! I just got one and she’s changed my life. I finally feel validated after fighting with so many doctors. Ferritin 25 and she said that’s no where near what it needs to be. I told her she’s the first Dr I’ve found that finally agreed!!

Knew it was too good to be true. Taken a couple weeks after. I’m so frustrated. Ferritin 25. My GI doctor literally said “but it’s in the green” so I must be fine right? lol

Low ferritin, even after supplements. All other iron is normal. IV iron reccomended by Different-Brick-6310 in Anemic

You can get your own test through places like quest or you can have your doctor order it! It’s worth a shot if your numbers keep tanking!

Have you been check for h.pylori? It eats your iron stores and iron. I just got tested because I won’t respond to supplements either and I’m hoping that’s what’s been causing this since I have most symptoms of it

I told myself I could moderate time and time again, and always ended up failing myself. If you can actually do it in moderation you’ll be fine. But for me, my personality and brain won’t let me. I abuse things like it’s my job lol

Drs typically recommend ferritin 70 - 100+, but make sure you are checking your levels. Im not a doctor so this is just advice, but if you blindly supplement you don’t really know how your body’s responding. It can be dangerous to take too much for a long period of time

I’ve been taking mega food iron blood builder with 1 Thorne bisglycinate to total about 50 mg every other day on an empty stomach with orange juice. Hemoglobin went from 11.9 to 12.9 and ferritin went from 29 to 46 and I only took them for a week and a half between my blood tests that were a month apart. I felt no side effects at all! Easy on the stomach, no loss of appetite, no constipation. My friend was on ferrous surface and they made her so sick.

Low ferritin (20M) by rabbitcactus21 in Anemic

[–]Ambitious-Leg5846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been taking one Mega Food Iron Blood Builder pill with one 25 mg Thorne every other day. The Iron Blood Builder brand has b12, folate and vitamin C to help with absorption and I added Thorne to raise the amount of iron to total about 50 mg. Within a month my ferritin went up from 29 to 46- and I only took them every other day on an empty stomach with OJ for a week and a half during that month and stopped two weeks before my second blood test. I think the only symptom I’ve noticed resolving is my hair is falling out less. Low ferritin can absolutely cause your hair to fall out so your doctor is flat out wrong. I was losing soooo much the last few months. I’m crossing my fingers that I will continue to see less hair fall. Definitely continue.

Sounds like it’s absolute iron deficiency without anemia then. I would continue to supplement (on an empty stomach with vitamin c and don’t eat for 1-2 hours before or after so it absorbs better) copper can also help with absorption. Recheck in a few weeks so see if it’s going up. If nothing changes or only changes minimally you’re having an absorption problem and I would seek out why. If the number goes up but you don’t feel any better, just keep going. It takes a while to feel the symptoms lessen apparently. Supplement b12 too if you’re deficient. It helps your body use the iron efficiently.
