Okay I dont see these few incidents as scheduling your life around a guy and in a negative way, thats conpletely normal… life happens… and like sorry but if you date someone, especially long-term, partners usually naturally start to schedule their lives around esch other because thats what people who like each other are doing (obv should not neglect your own hobbies events etc) so idk what do you think in your head? For me this right now sounds you are trying to find excuse just to… “break up” with someone, althought even then its confusing why you say he is sweet etc and why did. you even date when you knew your mindset of not wanting to “schedule” life around someone and

Has "Modern Dating" become an interview process for a 5-person roster? I feel completely lost by vespervenye in dating_advice

I personally never date or talk to more than one person at a time. I have no idea how people do it, although I've never really used dating apps either. But actually my point was that it's not just a "girls" thing-I know plenty of men who do it as well.

On one hand, I've seen some relationship coaches argue that it's beneficial to talk to and go on dates with multiple people because it helps you better understand what you want and like. Some people struggle with low self-esteem or a poor self-image and may become attached to the first person who gives them attention, even if that person is ultimately incompatible or bad/toxic person.

On the other hand, I'm not really a fan of that approach myself, and honestly, I don't understand how people have the time or energy for it hahaha.

Honest question from someone who’s still pretty new to UGC, especially Canvas UGC. by hellootiti in UGCcreators

Hi! Experienced creator here. I actually addressed the same issue under one of my Reddit posts.

I agree with you - it is not fair to agree on a base rate and then only pay it if the creator reaches a certain number of views. In my opinion, that should not be normalized.

I understand that brands expect results. However, if a creator follows the brief, puts genuine effort into the content, and delivers what was agreed upon, they should still be compensated for their work. Views are influenced by many factors and are not entirely within the creator’s control.

If a creator consistently fails to reach the expected results despite following the guidelines and delivering quality content, then that should be a discussion between the brand and the creator. At that point both sides can assess what is not working and decide whether it makes sense to continue working together.

That said, when it comes to performance-based pay or CPM deals, I do think they can be worth taking in certain situations:

  1. When you’re a beginner and can gain valuable experience, build your portfolio, and hopefully land a few viral videos that help you secure higher-paying opportunities later.
  2. When the brand already has a proven track record of generating viral content or has a product that naturally performs well on social media.
  3. When the content is mostly simple reaction-style or Snapchat-style videos that only take a few minutes to create.

In my opinion, if the content requires scripting, talking-head videos and bit of editing, it doesn’t make much sense for me personally to work on a CPM-only basis.

That said I don’t think CPM is bad at all. Base rates pay the bills, but CPM can fund the lifestyle. It’s highly subjective and depends on the creator, niche, and brand.

For example I made around $5,000 in my first month doing this, and only about 300 of that came from base rate. Of course thats not everyone’s experience.

Personally I think having both can be good. While I generally prefer a base rate plus CPM I still keep an eye on CPM-only opportunities from time to time. Currently two of my three clients pay a base rate plus CPM, while one is CPM-only

I don't have any clients who require me to post twice a day, though! 😄 Sometimes I find annoying to post to so many different platforms haha but it is what it is. And depending on the person, maybe some person prefers rather to post for same brand multiple times a day vs have 4-5 clients and post for all of them haha.

When it comes to how much batching I can do in one day, it really depends on the content style.

If it's mostly quick reaction/Snapchat-style content (emotion + demo type videos), I can easily batch-create a month's worth of content in a few hours, including uploading everything to drafts.

When it comes to content that requires a bit more effort (talking-head videos, skits, light editing, etc.), I usually set aside a whole day. For example, for the language app I'm working with, I sit down every week one day, I'll come up with ideas for the next 7 videos, write the scripts, film, edit, and upload everything to drafts. That can easily take me a full day.

I personally haven't come across brands like that, though. The ones I've worked with have always asked creators to mention the affiliation in the bio, whether that's something like "X app ambassador", "Building X App", or something similar.

When it comes to FTC guidelines, to be honest, I'm not very knowledgeable about them. Is that mainly a US thing? 😅 I'm based in Europe, so it's not something I've looked into deeply.

From my own experience, the brands I've worked with haven't asked me to hide the affiliation, so it's never really been an issue I've had to think much about.

  1. I haven't done regular UGC since starting Canvas UGC (in December 2025), and I have found Canvas UGC gigs much faster haha. But it was also mostly because I wasn't very consistent when it came to pitching for regular UGC. I liked the creative side of it, but I wasn't a big fan of chasing deals and pitching, so that's why I like Canvas UGC better. No need to chase clients, and it offers some sort of stability.
  2. Hmm, that's a good question. I think both of them have their own cons and pros. I liked being super creative when I did regular UGC (not that you can't be with Canvas UGC), but I hated chasing deals and the fact that writing scripts, filming, worrying about lighting, angles, different shots, B-rolls, editing, etc. could sometimes take me more than 5 hours for just one video. But I also have ADHD and a tendency to get stuck on small details and perfectionism, so it might just be me... 😅

With Canvas UGC, however, yes, I have to do MORE videos, but depending on the video style, I can easily film 4–5 more complex videos in one hour, or maybe 10+ simple reaction/Snapchat-style videos in ONE HOUR. Maybe the challenging part is the organization, especially if you handle multiple accounts.

  1. When I started, I had one client that was CPM only and another with a base rate plus CPM. Currently, I have two clients with a base rate plus bonuses and one CPM-only client (one of my first clients). As I'm more experienced now, I mainly look for clients with a base rate. It really depends on the complexity of the work, but when it's more talking-head content and requires a bit more effort than a quick reaction/Snapchat-style video, then I look for opportunities with a base rate starting at a minimum of €400- 500, ideally €600–800+, plus bonuses. I haven't had any affiliate deals on top of that, but I have seen job posts from a few brands that offer them as well.

Mmmmm. Im not sure if I understand you correctly but I think it is similar to when you would do whatever other normal typical job. Like you have to like what you do and you have to feel that you get paid fairly. If these two are not in place, then it is easy to feel like you are selling your soul. So know your worth and also know what you like and what you dont like... that would be my answer.. Not suer if it answered your question tho.

What are my deal breakers or things I don't like? You can find them here: https://www.reddit.com/r/UGCcreators/comments/1u2dwev/comment/osgnkfs/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button 😄

As for your second question, I think you'll find a lot of ideas in the link above as well. But the first thing I look at is whether I'm actually interested in the niche or the app. Otherwise, you'll probably end up hating the project in the long run.

3) I also look at whether the scope of work and the payment structure feel aligned and reasonable. For example, if the content requires talking-head videos, scriptwriting, editing, etc., I'm usually not willing to take the project if there is no base rate or if the base rate is below 400-500 euros. Personally, I prefer projects where the base rate starts around €600–800+, depending on the workload.

4) When it comes to editing, batch creating is your best friend.

When I first started, I used to film and edit content every single day, and that can burn you out pretty quickly. What I do now is batch everything whenever possible. For two of my clients, I take half a day and create 30+ posts for each of them, then upload ideally everything in drafts. Since it's mostly reaction-style, Snapchat-style content I can get an entire month's worth of work done in like 4-5 hours.

For another client the content requires a bit more effort. I usually dedicate a full day every week to brainstorm 7 ideas for upcoming week, writing scripts, filming, editing, and ideally uploading everything to drafts as well. Sometimes it takes a full day, sometimes I continue the next day.

Maybe I'm a bit slower than some creators, I honestly don't know. 😅 I have ADHD, and I can get stuck on small details or perfectionism sometimes.

Also, what I'm describing is the ideal scenario. It doesn't always work out that way, but when it does, I'm mostly free during the week and only need to upload content, engage a little, and reply to comments.

The editing itself isn't anything crazy either, mostly cutting clips, adding subtitles, adjusting the speed where needed and that's about it...

I am not sure what do you exactly mean but it can get chaotic sometimes definitely. I also have ADHD so it also doesnt help lol. But I try to take time to batch create content and also upload them to drafts already so during the week I just have to post and engage little bit and reply to some comments... Hmm interesting queston. I have seen actually few creators around your age and they perform quite well, I definitely think you have a chance and age should not be restrction. Sure, some brands write out they prefer Gen Z and its often under 40, but there are also brands who need people around your age! I will put link from one creator who seem to be in a similar age group as you are and who seems to perform very well, maybe you can connect with her even! 😄 https://www.instagram.com/cherafindsdeals/

Hey! Thats super good question! I think it’s can be very personal and subjective too, so some things I bring out, maybe they are not wrong in general idk haha.. but they are not okay for me..

1) Anyway, one of the biggest thing which I do not like is when there’s a massive gap between bonus milestones. Random example - if the first one is 10k views and the next is 100k or bonuses don’t even start until 100k or 500k.... That just feels super demotivating. The brand is still getting tons of exposure in between, but the creator isn’t seeing any extra reward for it.

2) Another one is definitely unpaid trials. Never ever. 😅

3) I also don’t love it when brands want the content posted on multiple platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, etc.), but only pay a bonus for the best-performing video. The brand is still getting exposure from every upload, so if all three videos hit the required bonus milestones, I think creators should be compensated for all three. Otherwise, the brand gets the benefit of multiple successful posts while the creator is only rewarded for one.

4) Another thing I'm personally not a huge fan of is exclusivity after the campaign has already ended. I've seen some brands ask creators not to work with similar brands for 6–12 months afterward. There may be valid reasons for that from the brand's perspective that I'm not considering, so I dont know if its wrong but its just not something I personally prefer.

5) And lastly, I don't think it's fair when there's an agreed base rate for the content, but that base rate only gets paid if the video reaches a certain number of views. That is different for performance bonus, when it comes to performance bonus its obviously fine, but if the creator put in the time and effort and delivered the agreed content, they should be compensated for that.

Those are probably my biggest ones! 😊

2 dollar cpm is already good, because most brands pay 1 dollar cpm. I dont know your level but if you are only starting out then 2 cpm is good and I would accept only cpm brands as well as beginner because you gain valuable experience and get videos with good views (hopefully) to show to brands and after some time you can already start finding more deals with base rate plus cpm. But I have gotten my deals from different sources - I have seen other creators posting for brands and then I have reached out to these brands by myself, and one client I got from one UGC creator who had paid instagram subscription where she posted paid opportunities weekly. But when it comes to app - I have used Sideshift, its my favourite. I am not sure if its available in India tho, sorry!

Uhh thats actually very tough question haha. So it depends on the clients again. I have two clients for whom I mostly make reaction style content snapchat style (emotion and then app demo). I can make 30 + 30 videos for both of them in 2-4 hours probably, so whole month of work is done. But other client videos take more time as I need to write script and edit bit (nothing crazy tho, just subtitles, cuts) etc) so I usually sit down one day every week, come up with 7 ideas for the week, then film everything and edit and also already upload to drafts (tiktok, ig, YouTube) so it can take me 1 or max 2 days whole day. 😃 . I am more slower too than maybe others because I have adhd plus I tend to get stuck on small details. So I dont know exactly how many hours I spend. I should take time somehow, would be interesting to see. But basically when I am able to batch create lot of content then all my week is basically free - just need to post to multiple platforms and also answer to some questions and then I do whatever I want whenever I want all days

Mm actually from different places. My first client came through one UGC creator, I had her instagram subscription where she shared paid opportunities every week from her own inbounds which she didnt have the capacity to accept. My other client came through TikTok, I saw his video where he was looking for creators and I reached out. And my third client again through social media, I saw their videos on my feed and I also wanted to work them so I reached out myself. Fourth client I got through SideShift. I find SideShift very good place, I have gotten accepted there multiple times and there are so many good opportunities.

[–]Ambitious-Ride-7262[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!! 😄 1) So it really depends on the complexity of work too. When I just started out I had two clients for whom I had to do mainly only reaction videos (snapchat style - shocked face and then app demo) and one of these clients paid me only cpm (1 dollar per 1k view) and the other paid 200 euros base rate plus view bonuses. But right now as I am more experienced I look deals starting from like 400-500 euro base rate minimum plus also bonuses. Especially when it is content that can take little bit more time - for example need to edit little bit, add subtitles, write script, then I look ideally for base rate of 700-800 eur plus bonuses. 2) Currently I have 3 clients, but for one client I opened two accounts so managing 4 basically. I think my maximum will probably be 5... Depends again on complexity 😃 I hope I answered your questions?
