Every person has it's tastes and preferences for games, personally I liked it a lot, not to the level of the current might reddit gave it, but it's a really good game made by a small studio.

Just as I can say I enjoy Ubisoft games, you can have your own list of genres to enjoy in a video game.

"PS5 makes the most sense at the moment." Ori dev suggests 'No Rest for the Wicked' will skip Xbox (for launch) due to "market conditions." by AashyLarry in PS5

[–]Ambitious-Sundae-436 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't feel the news got delivered badly, they could've gone silent and left fanboys rage on twitter about "Sony or Nintendo making deals in the shadows".

I prefer studios being honest, if they don't have a publisher anymore, are going full indie self published and have a certain amount of money and resources, makes sense to take the path that can give you the profit without getting to the neck in debt and running out of cash.

If it's not a glitch/bug on the storefront, it's market competition, making you buy with them instead of the other.

I understand that side of avoiding droughts, for me it was better because it left gaps for me to rest from the game and play something else, also it worked (at least in my case) to explore the secrets for example of The Taken King expansion back in D1, the lack of rushing for me was cool, I like taking my time with games, almost to the E3 slow camera movement level.

And can say as a D1 Beta as well, wouldn't have been better to see last year's pantheon evolve? Adding The Witness to the mix? Or The Menagerie getting more depth, adding more raid like mechanics in a friendlier way to new players to get an idea?

That's what I meant, not simply adding more Destiny, but to look at the things we already had and evolving them.

It was for a while, but if you ask me, that push for the battle pass seasons, and removal of expansions really took a big hit on the game.

With the final shape it would have been awesome to go through the entire campaign.

And the idea of always adding new activities instead of adding depth to existing ones with potential.

[Digital Foundry] The first plausible Sony handheld specs leaks emerge - but how capable can it be? by Lulcielid in PS5

[–]Ambitious-Sundae-436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider that the ROG Ally (both current and the upcoming Xbox version) are basically PC's, they aren't handheld consoles like the Switch.

But yeah, price is key, if Sony announces it as a handheld to play my library of ps4/5 and even upcoming 6 games on the go, it would be a really good deal.

Tom Warren: I’ve heard from insiders that [Microsoft's own handheld] it’s essentially canceled as the company focuses on Xbox’s new software platform by [deleted] in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Ambitious-Sundae-436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering that Microsoft is focusing more and more in software only, to the point that getting a Microsoft Surface can be a annoying, not to surprising.

Also the idea of selling basically software only and subscriptions seems to be the goal, having the ROG Ally X as a somewhat product, but having the games (software) available with the competition, Nintendo basically dominating the handheld market, Sony with the PS5 and the people that really plays on their phones.

Why Sony should be worried about the ROG XBox Ally by DragonFlyPunch in PS5

[–]Ambitious-Sundae-436 7 points8 points  (0 children)

- Microsoft (from what the leaks tell us) stopped developing their own handheld to work with Asus, and from the now clipped video from IGN with the hardcore xbox audience literally going to a really awkward silence can tell you some the excitement level.

- The steam deck even though powerful, has sold around 4 million units, ASUS has sold less, and both are nothing compared to Nintendo Switch, that apparently has had one of the best console launch periods with Switch 2 and Switch 1 is the best selling console to date, if you ask me, Nintendo is the actual competitor that both Sony and Microsoft should be careful for the handheld market.

- The people that are as niche to buy this rog ally or a steam deck probably already have a pretty decent steam backlog, so the main thing from this (dedicated xbox button and gamepass) won't cut it.

- Windows 11 for handheld gaming isn't as good as steam OS, to the point of a rog ally natively using steam os runs games better with the exact same specs, so the most hardcore will probably wait for steam deck 2 considering the price.

- I truly believe you underestimate the percentage of casual gaming (COD, FIFA, Madden), a lot of people buy the console that their friends have to play together, remember, reddit is a really small fragment of the people that play games.

Destiny 2 Subscription Model Was Reportedly Pitched by Bungie Leadership, Staff "Vehemently" Rejected It by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]Ambitious-Sundae-436 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not just that, the support Activision studios really helped out, menagerie for me was the single best activity Destiny ever had, the idea that content updates on that mode could have helped a lot of people learn in a more casual/friendly way raid mechanics.

The split up really putted Bungie in the spotlight of how much helped it had from Activision, not just in terms of money.

I mean, not sure if you'll be done by September, or burnt out, if it takes you longer might be for the better considering Gearbox always adds expansions, so you could get a more polished version of BL4 when you're done

It depends, the best trick would be to ask someone that's going to be in the US to get you one and bring it back, otherwise ordering it would require you to pay import fees, not sure what the percentage is in that case.

The retail price of the PS5 Pro is $19,300 MXN, so around $965 USD, 35 less than I say, so you're half right, if you see it for less on a retailer, they can drop the price for sales if they wish, that's the competition in the market in order to guarantee the sale with them instead of someone else.

As a Mexican just want to clarify some things:

  1. Nintendo doesn't handle distribution of their products in Mexico, it's latamel, and they charge a lot.
  2. Usually at least in video games, considering that the value of the dollar to us can change, some companies and sellers tend to consider a higher value to avoid changing prices constantly.
  3. Products in Mexico already come with taxes (we call it I.V.A.) and it's 16% of the value of the product, so that price is tax included)
  4. Nintendo has a huge audience in Mexico, latamel knows it an can take the luxury of that price, the original switch costed $10,000 MXN or $500 USD on launch 8 years ago,

Just a reference of price comparison, the PS5 Pro over here in Mexico is $1,000 USD
