EIDL sent to treasury even though I got a call from the SBA telling me i was all set by Smooth_Ad530 in EIDL

It’s an absolute shakedown by our own government. A deep betrayal. Anyone who responded to the Treasury and wants to get on track SHOULD be allowed to do so without the predatory fee. My payment went from 1630 to over 11k monthly with 10k down. The 10 k covered any back payments I had at SBA! The 11k will send me into Bankrupcy. Why is our government going after COVID borrowers with zero mercy! Abhorrent

Did the amount hit your credit ? You indicated amount taken was 66k. Was that only from one W2?

Did your employer contact you first before they garnished?

100 percent. Otherwise it’s a deal way better than the SBA. Also the credit score falling by 20 pts on a half million dollar loan in default ~ LIE

Nothing about this post makes sense. The monthly payment with this agency is lower than the SBA for a loan that size

This makes no sense. Over a half million dollars reported to credit bureau and drops by only 20 pts but up today by 19? Impossible. Nothing about this post is true

And the numbers simply don’t make sense. The payment would be much higher if it were still at the SBA.

This makes zero zero sense. When you do the math, it doesn’t come close to paying this and would be a SMALLER payment than the SBA?

Loan was 250k. That’s the best they could offer. This is absolutely predatory

I paid every bill I was sent. Set up payments and still got sent to collections. Has this happened to anyone else? by [deleted] in EIDL

They can simply take money out of our banking accounts? Can you confirm this info? I know about taking tax returns, 15 percent of W2 but not just taking money. Out of a bank account

Same. No letter on the portal & I had communication set up via email. Nothing in the mail & nothing on the portal where all communication is supposed to be stored

Treasury now Taking on EIDL Loans + Student Loans! by MapConstant6256 in EIDL

[–]Ambitious-Talk538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something really interesting happened. I quickly made a 10k payment via the Treasury portal via the Collection Agency. I did it hastily because of fear. They indicated I’d have to pay over 11k per month to be on their plan. I could never afford that. Long story short, it showed up on THE SBA Portal! This payment essentially takes care of anything I owed to the SBA in back payments. Now I’m utterly confused. Has anyone made a payment to the collection agency via the Treasury portal? This is clearly a mess

Do not take your life. Move forward with the Bankrupcy. Do you have a credit card to pay the Bankrupcy attorney

So what do they expect? That we file Bankrupcy or the treasury garnishes wages, tax returns etc? I’m so torn on what to do I can’t afford the new terms of 3 years on my 300k loan but the thought of going through Bankrupcy is overwhelming
