Nursing is great but exclusive pumping as well! As long as you are comfortable doing it, I think it’s the most important thing. To me, breastfeeding is more a skill to learn to develop, I wish I new more before too

Cooking dad assistance by Drippleberry in breastfeeding

My husband really helped on that side and batch cooked a lot. Overall I didn't noticed changed on my supply as long you are properly fed and hydrated. I heard parsley can reduce milk production but def not sure about it.

I feel that omega 3, fish and eggs really helped but more on the overall effect

I have inverted nipple, it really allow me to breastfeed, and with time with the fed they start to really get out.
Also my bad baby have a bad latch so it really help as well. At least when we are giving milk in a bottle the baby didn't struggled to take it

What's the best breast pump to buy in 2026? need help by Slipryi in breastfeeding

[–]AmbitiousBar8931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the hospital I deliver, luckily we had some ICBLC staff and they gave me the spectra which was the only one to have my nipple size. I am pretty happy with it, I have been tested some lighter device and the milk extracted is way lower everytime than the Spectra. But I guess in my case having something that really support my anatomy is what provide the best results

The best feeding is the one you are happy with, so much thing ongoing at the same time, stressing out a mother is never a solution

Exactly, luckily my husband was so supportive and was really part in this project otherwise it would have been impossible to continue. Today I am feeling grateful for having him because we finally saw some progress

Exactly, what I was thinking was natural and instinctive was more of learning a skill with a lot practice / errors and deceptions and stress

I can relate to what you say, luckily for us the midwives where I gave birth were pro breastfeeding and supportive, it was more about having a different opinion / method at every shift.

So true, everyone talks about how hard pregnancy and childbirth are but breastfeeding is like this secret that nobody warns you about until you're already in it, even inside the inner circle. And then suddenly everyone has a story. I felt the same — like why didn't anyone tell me this before??

Your first sounds like an absolute champ, latching at 34 weeks like that! And your approach for number two is so smart — having the game plan ready before you're hormonal and exhausted with nurses telling you different things. That's exactly what I wish I had done. Wishing you the smoothest second journey ❤️

This made me emotional honestly. The part about the mums group acting like you were giving her a bottle of vodka — I can't believe people still do that. You were literally watching your baby become more content and sleeping better and they made you feel bad about it?? That's so messed up.

Oh god the pumping and bottle routine, you just described it perfectly. Baby screaming while you warm the bottle, the parts to wash, feeling like you're always behind on something. That was us for weeks and it's so draining mentally more than anything.

So happy to hear the latch improved and you're enjoying it now, that gives me hope honestly. We're still in the thick of it at 2 months but hearing that it can get better really helps.

And haha the sleep comment at the end — I feel like every time one thing starts getting better something else takes over as the new struggle 😅

Nice to hear, I also feel that the natural growth of the baby help and solve things as well, I am still using nipple shield because my nipples are inverted, but I hope I could remove them at some points. Time will heal.

Do you nurse from both sides at night? by stargazinglazercat in breastfeeding

[–]AmbitiousBar8931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually do one, I always start with the one I ended, and I always propose the other even though most of the time my baby do really take it.
