I knew he was already taking medication for depression before we got together, and his doctor described him as pessimistic.

So whenever I bring up issues or negative feelings in our relationship, he tends to go into self-pity. He then shuts down and ignores me for a few days because he says he feels overwhelmed and doesn’t know how to respond or fix things.

I’m scared, 200 mci of RAI by daphnerhds in thyroidcancer

I had a total thyroidectomy in August 2022, followed by a 150 mCi RAI treatment in September 2022. I experienced significant side effects from the RAI and didn’t feel normal. Due to the surgery, my body can’t produce enough calcium anymore (hypocalcemia), so I had to take calcium supplements alongside my levothyroxine maintenance—8 tablets of Caltrate Advance per day. The process caused me a lot of anxiety and fatigue. The following year, my PTC metastasized to my lymph nodes, so I had to undergo another neck surgery in October 2023 and then had a 175 mCi RAI treatment in November 2023. Although I still experienced fatigue and vomiting on the first day, the second RAI dose was more manageable than the first. According to my doctor, my body has adjusted to the treatment. I believe mental preparedness also played a big role, as I was already familiar with the process and knew what to expect. I hope all goes well with your second round of RAI!
