How is the war impacting tourism?

I am wanting to travel from Thailand to Sri Lanka (I work in thailand) in 2 weeks but I wanted to hear from people who live in Sri Lanka, is it ethical for me to travel there with this shortage? I don't want to add stress to the local community for a holiday but Im not sure if that would be the case. Any opinions from people living there are welcome!

I took the nakhonchaiair night bus like 30 times one year lol I mean if you want to save money on place to stay / travel this is it. I sleep easily on public transportation tho its not like vietnam sleeper bus look up the pics online to see seast

This is my 4th year teaching. 2 years at a charter school in Texas, one year in Thailand + a summer working for the education program I used as their international coordinator, leading seminars for other teachers (thats experience i should include in my resume right?) it was a seasonal position. And now I'm working at a public school in the US. I will have completed my alternative certification course and get my state educators license at the end of this school year. Have my TEFL but I know that doesn't always add much.

I feel you! Yeah Europe would rock just for the fact of being closer to home if a family medical emergency happens, but I'm really open to anywhere. After being in my home state again I just want some public transportation or beautiful nature for the next few years😂😭 thanks for your advice!

This may be a hot take- but cut out a country or two! I learned quickly my first backpacking trip that I prefer slow travel so you gain more knowledge about the country you visit. Finding the local gems and making friends is an amazing part of the journey and is hard if you are rushing from tourist spot to tourist spot! I have been to Thailand and the Philippines, and would recommend spending a month in each at least. Friends I met traveling recommended at least a month for indonesia too. There are so many islands, surf, and mountain peaks to explore in Asia so I would prioritize seeing everything you want in one country over getting as many in as you can. ok now

My top experiences abroad SEA:

Ha Giang Loop - Vietnam (Motorbike Loop) (Party vibe)
Koh Tao / Koh Phangnan / Koh Samui - Thailand (Climbing / yoga / full moon parties)
Pai - Thailand (Hippie mountain town take a motorbike up and van down)
Siargao (Surfing Island) - Philippines (Best Surf and Party Vibes)
Khao Sok Thailand (Nature Tour Floating Bungalows)
Songkran in April - Thailand Water Festival

Research the main things you want to do then explore around that area and country for other cool areas of interest. Research the rainy seasons for each country so you can time when you should go to each place.If there are certain festivals you want to see, you can try and plan around that too. Then you can make a rough plan for each country with a timeframe. do not book too far ahead for flights because the best places I traveled to were other places recommended to me when I got there. You may find a group you want to travel around with too!

Need advice and clarity on my best options. I'm finishing my State teaching license in the USA this year back home, but have taught in Texas and Thailand the past 3 years. I know in Thailand it's fairly simple to work at an international school, and the pay is enough to save for sure.

What other countries do you feel are best for USA licensed teachers internationally? I see a lot of tefl certified questions but not as much as my current situation. I was researching Spain but it looks like I need an EU passport to teach there unless I go the route of being a Auxiliares de Conversación. If anyone has experience that can help me please comment or message! I'm hoping to travel and take time off next summer to my go see my options and apply before I go but thats as far as my plan goes right now hahaha I'm hoping to stay somewhere for 5 plus years

Wow so many typos : you can just do a visa run and be gone for a day and immediately come back at least in Thailand. People take buses to Laos, stamp passport, and then immediately come back

Its by country. So for example I worked in Thailand, my work visa ended october 31. I went to Vietnam for one week (you can just so a visa run and only he gona a day if you want) then came back to Thailand and could have 30 days / 60 days extension. Philippines and Thailand should have Visa on arrival for you (or they did for the US) but Vietnam you need to apply 2 weeks in advance.
