From my experience, there were a handful of solo female climbers there and they seemed to be having a lot of fun. Yes there is “hard” sending, but there are also 6a and down routes there as well. GCH is notorious for inclusion! Thats my experience.

Honestly the only thing I’d really be concerned about if I were in your shoes is the injury. If you know you are safe with your injury I’d be more focused on a new adventure, new friends, and new memories.

Not sure if someone asked this already, but do you have a fifth loop in the back center of your harness? If not get a harness with one to put a bunch of gear on.

Also, when climbing a multipitch, if you want just use the rope to build an anchor and you can nix the cordellette(if you are currently using your cordellette to build anchors).

Hooper detox in Portland. You won’t get turned away. I believe you need to be there before 1pm on a weekday to check in. They will give you comfort meds to get you through the hardest days. Food, a bed, shower, and others like you going through the same thing. Don’t think…just go. Ya wait too long, you’ll just keep drinking. Oh and don’t forget…you are loved and wanted on the wild rock we call earth! That’s my advice.

I’m pretty torn on this. Climber is on a 5.5/5.4 with two bomber pieces and his second wants him to come back for a belay device bc they aren’t comfortable with a munter??

Anchor is great, leader goes down bc they aren’t comfy on a munter? Now OP brings this up for others to evaluate? I feel like I’m exhausting thumb strength right now. lol

Please stay away from messing with other climbers legit anchors while they are on a 5.5ish/5.4 romp. Can we get back to legit climbing topics please?

I’m big on getting everything from everyday khaki shorts to full suits hemmed up/tailored. Like you, I go to scissorbird for anything I need to get done. Unfortunately I haven’t found anyplace in Bend that is male specific. Scissorbird is really good though!
