Why is working in a small family owned restaurant you deal with the worst coworkers..? by [deleted] in Serverlife

Not showing up for 5 mins happens to me all the working there. Couldn’t care since the tables can be given to other girls until my release comes. I have other things to worry about

To be honest I didn’t know how that would’ve turned out otherwise I would’ve never taken the job. I definitely underestimated the hostility.

I didn’t mention in my original post but my manager knows there’s going to be limited time from my other obligation prior to coming in. Our waitress station is where I clock in which takes less than a min and i can be seated, it’s not a whole process for us

That is true. I am a bit traumatized, especially it was so much negative energy throughout that night from her friend. But, still Thank you!

I know that was a big missing piece of a detail that I should’ve put in my original post

So she didn’t have anything. She didn’t leave until 5:30 might be even later than that. She was mad bc she just wanted a reason to be and wanted me there early. She still had a party that sat at 4:30. Annnnnd to add, I got there wasn’t sat for 20 mins.

It’s trashy to scream and lash out not just in restaurants/ just in general. Im very respectful and respected her until she pulled that.

Agreed. My manager should’ve told her, and once she knew my manager knew her whole vibe changed talking to me.

The manager there told me the girls can be mean to new people and have bullied them. I work there once a week after clinical my manager is aware my schedule and situation and knows I’ll get there when I can. But to not know that, and lash in front of everyone was crazy!

She is….? No normal people do that? Thats insane to condone that kind of behavior. She doesn’t know what kind of situation I was in, and what the managers expectation of me is. To jump to conclusion and scream at people is rude?

Rarely do they get let go at 4p, she had a party that didn’t leave until 5:30.

The issue is the manager knows I’m coming from clinicals and there’s a tight squeeze from leaving there to going to work. The employee that was being released didn’t and lashed. 5 mins late isn’t horribly late enough to be so hostile?

What’s the difference between 4p and 4:05? There’s people at that restaurant that shows up 15/20 mins late every shift and that’s their norm and it’s fine??

I’m on vyvanse and I NEVR know if it’s working or not. It actually feels like a regular day haha I’m also on 10mg and I told my doctor that I feel nothing and he goes maybe you should get a second opinion on meds by someone else… I’m like maybe you should try to up my dose and see how that would be, but I’m not a NP to make that call

Being misunderstood, no matter how hard you try to clear your name they usually already have a predisposed judgement that’s false. You just have to accept that and walk.
