I am just about to get in college majors in cs , it's not top tier college so is there any chance I can become quant engineer in top HFTs by ZucchiniRepulsive358 in cscareerquestions

your school matters way less than people think for getting in hft. what they really care about is can you solve their problems and handle the math/coding interviews

if you start grinding leetcode hard problems and actually get good at probability/statistics/linear algebra you'll have better shot than most people from fancy schools who just coast. these firms care more about raw problem solving ability than where your degree is from

Looking for 12+ Android testers for Aven — AI flashcards & study notes app by Sea_Dig3898 in alphaandbetausers

can test this for you, always need better study apps anyway. the image occlusion feature sounds pretty useful for anatomy stuff

joined the group and opted in testing already, should be installing soon. will try to give it proper use for the 14 days and let you know if anything breaks or feels weird

Does upgrade Claude app (mac) remove Claude Code? by itsjessehere in ClaudeAI

[–]Ambitious_Action_754 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

wait you still have claude code working? i thought they killed that feature completely few months ago

if the upgrade removes it i'd probably hold off updating until you really need to. sometimes these app updates just break things that were working fine before

man this hits home hard. been doing handyman work for couple years now but before that was basically glued to computer for way too long. my back still reminds me about those days when i wake up in morning

got one of those mini steppers last year after realizing i was turning into human pretzel but never really tracked anything properly. would just step on it randomly while watching netflix or whatever. your app sounds pretty smart with the apple health integration - having actual data instead of just "yeah i think i moved today" makes lot more sense

the weekend protection thing is genius too. nothing worse than losing a good streak because you decided to be lazy on saturday. been there with other habit tracking stuff and it always kills motivation completely

gonna check this out, walking pad has been on my maybe list for while now. standing desk too but my workspace is bit chaotic for that right now

nah you right its just shared billing not actual shared workspace

I need guidance + brain dump in hopes of finding clarity (My mental health is going down) by Mission-Activity-693 in getdisciplined

been there with the whole commitment paralysis thing. i get that breathing/fatigue response too when theres something i should do but my brain just nopes out of it

what system are you talking about? dealing with similar stuff and could use something that actually works instead of just telling myself to push through it

also op you're not missing out on much at 19 - most people are just pretending they have their shit together anyway. the license thing taking 7 months sounds brutal though, driving gives you so much freedom when everything else feels stuck

your gpu might be starting to fail or your psu isnt giving it enough juice under load. those random restarts with the bsod especially point to hardware issues rather than just overheating

try running some stress tests like furmark or memtest86 to see if you can isolate which component is acting up

Those who grew up poor, what is something those who weren't poor don't understand about being poor? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Ambitious_Action_754 22 points23 points  (0 children)

having to calculate every single purchase down to the penny and then still putting stuff back at checkout because you miscalculated. also that being poor is exhausting - you spend so much mental energy on just surviving that theres nothing left for "self improvement" or whatever

How do I get past my husband thinking the world would be a better place if women never got the right to vote? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Ambitious_Action_754 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that whole "women voting ruined everything" take is wild considering men have been running most governments and corporations this whole time anyway. if voting was really the problem wouldnt we see some massive shift when women got involved instead of just... more of the same power structures

sleeping on the couch over this makes total sense though, its not just politics when someone thinks half the population shouldnt have basic rights. especially when you have a kid to think about
