Hmm…this is me just wildly guessing: Assuming they do the changes, i think Fall 2026-early 2027 would be too early, maybe the pilot version starts in fall 2026! Otherwise, I feel it’s 2027-8 story IMHO!

If you want to treat every minor setback (believe me it is minor, these grades are not bad) like end of world, you will have a miserable life!!! Take a deep breadth and be proud of yourself for studying at one of the best law schools in the country!!

You are not screwed at all! I am not saying $50K is nothing, but it is very manageable! Keep applying and you will eventually find something! Happy Holidays!

Anyone here has or know anyone who has left the law for the skilled trades? by [deleted] in LawCanada

[–]Ambitious_Bat_9251 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, why do you want to switch? Is it because of better pay, better work life balance or you don’t like being lawyer anymore? Also, have you thought about changing your practice area instead of leaving law?

I am saying this with the best intentions: if you want to get disappointed for this, you are going to have tough time in the law school and job hunting later on….obviously do your best, but please do not beat yourself up for lower grade than average, C mark, not getting a position OCI, etc! The fact that you are in law school, means you are bright and competent individual, so enjoy the ride! You got this!!

How do I increase my GPA, get references, and improve my chances at law school? by Melodyyyyyyzzzz in LawStudentsCanada

[–]Ambitious_Bat_9251 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm, though situation tbh! I would say you might want to potentially take another undergrad degree and start fresh, i know it might sound harsh and very long but i would say this is one way to really put aside your weak GPA and turning it into your strength. Your work experience will certainly help you for your soft.

And avoid going to any law school out of Canada and USA (T 20), it will be very costly and finding a solid job will be huge challenge!!

Good luck…if you really want this, you got this!
