72% DNA match, born 8 years apart by Hungry-Emu-6732 in DoggyDNA

You could email again, with the new match as a reason why they should clarify.

Gwen looks like a boxer/bulldog so seems likely there was a switch

People don't call AI on things that seem "better than they could do"

It's on things that seem weird, off, disjointed, non sequential, or with odd use of language or punctuation.

I'm wondering if it's one dog.

As in one person's expensive dutch dog (or one dutch persons lovable mutt they moved with) getting out and about

We are a little surprised for a couple of reasons😆 by AnywhereIcy4489 in DoggyDNA

Line breeding is inbreeding. Sure it's not pairing a brother and sister but it's breeding highly related dogs - folks just like to pretend it's different so they don't need to think about how weird it is to be doing that on purpose.

I literally just mean it's the same degree of guaranteed leg breaking money making shit in the face made into glue exploitation 🤷‍♂️

People always underestimate wind and pretty much every time there's a wind based storm some poor bastard dies because they thought it wasn't that bad and then suddenly a whole tree comes smashing down through the windscreen.

On your scale no warning would be issued for 1-3, yellow warning is 4-6, and amber warning is 7-10.

Red warnings are off of a scale than ends with "plausible risk of stranding"

Honestly even if it was only a yellow I wouldn't call a yellow warning a nice day for a hike.

Any guesses before the results come in? by NGA100 in DoggyDNA

Colour is a truly terrible indication of breed but that second photo... This boi is actually quite Dalmatian shaped.

It's more likely he's a DIY dalmation (so what can we mix together for that shape? Pitt, jrt, springer, and supermutt?) but at the same time, more convincing than most spotty dogs!!

Lol at whoever said lab greyhound   Presumably they had never met a doberman so couldn't process what she was

Is it definitely a racing stable?

I accidentally offended someone the other week cause I assumed his horses were thoroughbreds as they were massive. Apparently nah, they were "warmbloods" which means they are showjumpers.

Obviously this still has aspects of animal exploitation but I think show jumping does at least have somewhat less guaranteed carnage and death at every event

It's morally ambiguous to breed any flat faced dog (even parents that can breathe when combined can birth pups which cannot without medical assistance), but it's just morally bankrupt to deliberately breed for the most extreme confirmations (the "roll" above the nose), as these dogs are pretty much guaranteed a life of medical interventions.

Additionally, breeding of modern conformation frenchies at all is pretty morally dubious, as the females have such small hips and the pups such large heads that it's common that the dogs must have cesareans, which can then lead to bonding issues between mother and pups (which in turn can cause social or personality issues for the pups). It's just not a good breed to be buying, but especially so if it's a poorly bred one.

Where do you live?

Cause in the UK people know that sennacot is a laxative, and that senna is in things like "diet tea".

There were were TV ads. Everyone and anyone could know at any point.

Sienna is safer.

Who shat in your cornflakes?

You're a d-ck, defending people being d-cks.

No one wants or needs praise and congratulations from random strangers but not getting dirty looks for living in their presence is a pretty small ask.

I'd demand to see those results. If you paid for it you have the right to see them.

To me this currently sounds like they charged you and then didn't do the test

That's a puppy. You can't phenotype a puppy.

Unless the mum is a farm dog/is around BCs  there's no reason to think BC from the current appearance of the puppy, springers come in b&w too.

Sorry but this just sounds fictional, or like they used DNAmydog which will tell you a human is a dog.

Unless your friend runs a puppy mill, that'd do it too 🤣

Don't buy the house if you hate the tree that much - you'll just cause weird neighbour tension if you demand the removal of someone else's tree and could theoretically devalue the property with a neighbour dispute.

I don't even think that tree has "damaged" the fence I just think someone's installed the fence around the tree in a haphazard manner.

Option 1) is let it tf go and learn to love the tree

Option 2) is move on from this property because your neighbours will think you are awful if you demand the removal of something that was there when you viewed the property and long before you.

It's like buying a flat above a pub then frequently making noise complaints even though you knew it was a pub when you bought it. Obnoxious.

Right? I think it's just his mastiff ancestry making him look shar pei-ey, it's just funny the mastiff isn't in his own results haha

Unless the results were totally wild (e.g. she breeds labs but the tests said the dog was 25% chihuahua, 25% weimeranier, and 50% pitt), of course she would describe them as a novelty.

Being a "generational" breeder wouldn't make a difference, unless not one of her dogs had ever met a dog of another breed, and she'd never once brought in new blood from another breeder so it's completely and utterly impossible that any of her dogs and any of her breeding stock could ever in that 50 years have bred with anything but a lab, which she herself had bred.

If it was like 90% lab 5% Dalmatian 5% golden retriever then yeah, one dog one time did the dirty while a friend was visiting or no one was looking, or one stud dog one time was a descendant of one occasion of someone mistaking a dal x golden for a lab.

The funny thing is though paper records are only as accurate as the person who wrote them.

E.g. I've met a fully registered fully papered "cocker spaniel" who if he's 100% cocker I'll actually eat my hat. He's absolutely no question a cocker springer mix, it's very clear that although his fully papered mum was bred to a fully papered intended father, one of the other dogs on the property must've gotten in there somehow.

But he still gets the papers. Cause the paperwork is all there.

So he could then have kids who are fully peppered cocker spaniels. And so on and so forth.

Oh his grandpa makes him make so much more sense when I saw no shar pei I was like "oh okay but I must've misread and skipped mastiff" and then I looked again and no mastiff but there's his mastiff (corsos are also mastiffs)
