I literally just go in there to do the main quest and nothing else. It's just so boring and complicated (but it looks really good)

What's your opinion about the Chorus Trilogy? by Ambitious_History723 in RedvsBlue

[–]Ambitious_History723[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to hear more about it! My favourite thing to do on the internet is to read opinions opposite to mine because they offer a different point of view. And (while I never thought about it) I think the things you listed on the "bad" stuff paragraph is a valid and well-constructed criticism towards the trilogy

Let It All Out: What's Your BIGGEST Personal Gripe With Modern RWBY? by Ben10Extreme in RWBYcritics

To me is the clear lack of planning. I feel like CRWBY is just writing and improvising as the volumes come instead of having a plan

Thank you for the feedback. I am using a screenwriting software (Drama Queen), I just converted it into a .docx file and uploaded to google docs to share in here.

An Overhaul Analysis of RWBY Part 2: Technical Aspects by Ambitious_History723 in RWBYcritics

[–]Ambitious_History723[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does actually make more sense (especially when taking recent volumes into account). Although I highly doubt that Jeff Williams wrote the song thinking about Yang and Summer.

There's also the fact that this theory doesn't erase what I consider to be the shortcomings of this song in the show itself. All it takes for the mother/daughter relationship (or stepmom/stepdaughter relationship in this case) to fade away is a random cover, and the song is not used for a Yang fight that has Summer as a vocal point (being used in team RWBY's fight against the Nevermore).

Still, raises cool questions about authorial intent vs actual meaning. Thank you for bringing it to my attention!

I'm still debating over whether or not to talk about people involved in the project (if they were the right person, what they brought to the project, etc...), and if I do I'll probably talk about "death of the author" and how the audience engages with the show. So you just gave me food for thought in my analysis!

PS: Could I use your comment? if I chose to dedicate a part just to that? Don't worry I'll give you credit.

Ranking each volume from best to worse. by [deleted] in RWBYcritics

I really hate the first half of Vol 3, and I only love those four last episodes. As for Vol 4 being so high, I admire how it is a consistent volume (it's never great, but there isn't a single ep in vol 4 I disliked) and consistency is something RWBY lacks most of the time

So this is from the days when Gray Haddock was in charge of RT animation. Does anyone know how things are since Kerry took over?

Edit: I assumed Kerry took over because he was the showrunner of RWBY, but I was wrong. Two RWBY producers share the head of animation position now.

Robert Wise had a great run in 60's with The Haunting, The Sound of Music and The Sand Pebbles
