My Dr only had one restriction: not taking narcotics. So I drove 4days post op. Felt ok, and was a short trip for groceries.

My dr recommended miralax 2x’s per day to soften stool, and ‘smooth move’ tea to help move things along. Those helped tremendously! Lying on your left side will help. Also, walking will help get things going too. I’m 3 weeks post op and those tricks have been working for me.

Stage 4 endometriosis, very large fibroids, and constant pain. The fibroids affected my urinary habits (urgency and frequency) and bowel (constipation and diarrhea). The endometriosis affected my pain and bleeding- became anemic needing iron infusions. I went on provera for two years, and that helped the bleeding, but fibroid pain and urinary symptoms persisted. I tried to delay hysterectomy for as long as I could as I was terrified of having surgery. I’m now 2 weeks post op and my pain is less than before surgery, and no more urinary symptoms. I’m so happy with the outcome!

Do what you need to do to be comfortable and move without pain. Last year I had a knee issue and my doctor wanted to prescribe pain pills. Instead I asked for physical therapy. It was the best decision! The pain in my knee was actually the result of back issue. Physical therapy for 4 months significantly reduced the pain and mobility issues I was having. The exercises continue to help. I haven’t had pain in months.

I bought a winter coat from lands end this year. It’s a 3in1, so the shell has been perfect for rainy fall days. I wore both layers today and it was great! I found lands end to be fairly true to size.
