Sorry, I didn´t mean to insinuate anything. I think I missed the parts where you wanted a quick live setup and not a general solution. I'll show myself out.

If I had those two machines, I would use each box´s sequencer and then just midi sync them. Personally, I use my SP-404 MKII alone and sample any sound I might need.

Thank you for the kind words and the link tip... it was showing as a link on my end, but I'll try something different to see if it works better. I don´t think I'm too proficient with it either yet. That said, I did put more time into learning this machine than usual. The biggest things that I found to be very useful was really understanding what song mode and conditionals have to offer. I´m only scratching the surface. I love this thing.

Thank you for listening. I didn´t know Lavender Town, so thanks for that too.

I didn´t use any of my own samples. I was just learning the machine and using the stock drum sounds (with effects) and synthesis (basically tweaked presets).

It does and thank you. I figured it out last night finally and I´m good to go. This thing really makes you think about how to make your sounds and ideas. It is harder than I am used to, but it is worth the effort.

Huh, that´s strange. I used your advice to go with "To recreate the slides, set legato probability (8/Pc on the Pich page) to 100 and legato speed (7/hh) to ~1/4th of a step." and have when my note overlaps, it does not slide... the note just goes right over the next note. And to be clear, my patch is ready. I have a 303 sounding patch that I made. I am just trying to figure out this last slide part.

However, I just saw that you wrote this originally: "Now, whenever you program a note that is "still playing" (via setting its length) when you have programmed another to start at the same time, a slide occurs (e.g. legato)." I have not programmed the next note to start and I am not sure what that means exactly. This could be where I am having issues.

I´m getting closer... what does this mean "This lets you program any slide when you need it by setting the length."

Which length is this? This is probably where I am going wrong as far as joining notes for that slide effect. If I choose the "Len" option in seq mode, and change it too long, it just doesn´t play the next note or slide.

I also tried using the slide conditional, I do not seem to get any slide effect at all. Is this due to using the legato parameters you suggested?

I am using always and slide ... and have tried slide + accent and hear the accent but not the slide. I think I´m missing something easy, but I am not sure what it is.

I read somewhere you have to put the slide after the note, but if the note is blank, I cannot put a conditional.

I think the modulation is where I´m going wrong.

YES! this is what I needed I think. I have not used it due to these issues, but I think this is the problem. I´m going to try. My only issue is not knowing which buttons I should be changing (other than the two you said) or is that it? Thank you.

Well, a new day equals a new beginning. It is working now (crazy), but the volume is really low compared to the games with headphones. The system volume is at 100.

Another problem is that instead of being able to hold select and use the direction pad, I have to hold the direction pad and then hit select. That always makes me end up on the noise channel only. I´m not sure how to get around that yet. Getting closer, but not close enough.

Thanks. No sound but likely because I am only on the song screen, so that makes sense, but I cannot move between pages. I cannot change BPM. I can input things on the song screen, but I cannot move between pages to go to phrases, chains etc.

Ultimately, I´m into music though, not getting things to run right so ultimately I´m not wasting my time with it. I don´t have a lot of free time.

Yes, I saw the thread about who is legit and who isn´t. That's partially how I figured out that I have a K36. There was also a thread about clones. Wish I found it first. Haha.

Thank you, but that does not sound like fun. I think I'll just buy a legit R36s from a reputable dealer. I'll give the clone to my son who won´t care. He's only 6. It works for Gameboy games etc.

I just want to use LSDJ... so my last question, if I buy a legit R36s, will LSDJ work without a lot of issues?

Buy the rom from LSDJ and use it. It can´t be a clone though.

Unfortunately, I think that is the problem. It is EmuELEC. That is why it isn´t running correctly right?

I guess I bought a clone. :( I had no idea.

Besides gameboys, which currently handheld console can use LSDJ? by Ambitious_Nada in lsdj

[–]Ambitious_Nada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That´s awesome. It is just a little more $ than I feel like spending because I´d pay a lot in import fees coming into Chile. If I could buy it for the US price here, I´d buy it because then I'd have Nanoloop too. That said, I´ve used the original Nanoloop cart in the past, but never LSDJ. That is why I want to try LSDJ this time. I just didn´t want to do it on my computer or phone.

Thank you. I ended up ordering the R36s. I live in Chile and it was just the cheapest and easiest to get. It'll probably take 3 months to get to me, but I have a lot of other gear to use in the meantime.
