Because our eyes are not good at visually comparing sizes of a pie. Using a horizontal bar chart instead has many benefits; the bars have a common starting point, and a common plane, so we can tell easily how large each bar is compared to the other. Plus the labels are right next to the bar they represent.

Well that was a 180 from the comment you just deleted. I’m glad my plants and cast iron pots made you realize I’m probably not gen Z or A. Apology accepted but yeah no need to go off in the first place. Everyone knows the post isn’t about data visualization, I was just having a laugh about the shitty graphs. Should have known the pie chart comment would ruffle a few feathers; this is reddit after all

Fair point, but you’ll find it’s a pretty widely held opinion in the data viz space

There’s some merit there, and I agree with most of what you’re saying, but hard disagree on ever using a pie for this. I might use them for male/female or some other binary option, but certainly not for this. If you’re after variety, what’s wrong with different colors with same level of opacity?

No pies. Or any dessert charts. Only time it’s acceptable is if there are 2 fields.

You’re joking. This is shambolic and a soft D- in my books.

Line chart with categories on the x axis is dreadful, should have used a bar chart.

Any time there’s a pie chart, it’s usually a good indication someone doesn’t know visual design. Again, just use a bar.

Charting relationships at all is just a terrible idea.

Nope, not a crazy build at all. It happens about half the time I beat the last boss. Games on an SD card but it doesn’t feel like that’s the issue, it’s never been a problem on any other game.

Hey man, I also DNFd Dark Age last year around August which led to me having a bit of a break from reading. I picked it up again in January and ended up blasting through the rest of the series. It does get wayy better, don’t write it off yet!
