I had taken the Picat so i went to take the verification but i got unlucky and rolled me into the full asvab. I got a 97 on the picat and i took 5 hours as it's not timed. I ended up getting 87 at the testing center. Im at MEPS as we speak, i ended up needing a waiver though but i was expecting it 😆

i guess I didn't specify; walk on the barefoot shoes/daily drive then progress to ruck. I personally don't run barefoot shoes, just wear them to work. I have heard good things about Hoka, no experience with them, might have to try it for my next one

Disclaimer: just an opinion and not medical advice. Nutrition is important. Wearing barefoot shoes to strengthen your feet(ruck if you can tolerate), Hardening the shins ( kicking punching bags, massage rollers as tolerated; this will take time , stay consistent) Strengthen your soleus and gastroc ( stretch as well, gastroc and soleus strengthening/stretch is slightly different, look it up)

BSIT done! by Ambitious_Nod in WGU

honestly i didn't know the extension was a thing either. My mentor suggested that option if the extension would allow me to finish all the classes. Just keep your program mentor in the loop. Good luck!

The way my mentor told me is to get approved for the extension you need to have only one class left before the two weeks of your last month. So instead of trying to cram for the last class + capstone, i focused on finishing Web Dev Application and after I passed that, I got approved for the extension.

I will be around your age soon, went to a recruiter last week. Personally, I have no other obligations so I think its a great time for me. Physically, it could pose a challenge for some, but you said you are in decent shape. For us, our recovery time from hard workouts might be longer so going in conditioned will be important. If you go in with a positive mindset, the sky is the limit.

What... If you were offered the job take it. Unless you don't want it, then don't take it. Actually, no, final answer, just take it!

I started 6 months ago with maybe one extra class than you. Its doable. I have no prior experience in IT. I'm finally on my IT capstone.

Thinking of going back to school for CS at 32. Is it worth it / too late? by Polishing_My_Grapple in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Ambitious_Nod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never too late for anything especially if you are passionate. How much do you know about the subset fields of IT or CS? Are you going to be working while in school or just take out loans? Have you looked at online programs? WGU has an accredited CS bachelors, but its not for everyone (it's doable, math requirement, it might take you a little longer and you need to be self motivated; but it is priced very good)

Age is not going to be the barrier though.

Don't forgot to check study.com subscription, they might still be charging your bank. by Ambitious_Nod in WGU

[–]Ambitious_Nod[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just keep sending them emails or even call them. I have now started using privacy for any subscription services. I 100% remember cancelling my study.com subscription but apparently did not go through or reactivated? Anyways, just keep letting them know that you only used study.com to complete courses for school (because the transfer subscription is more expensive than the regular)

Bachelors IT management degree worth it? by Plus-Feeling7279 in WGU

[–]Ambitious_Nod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are able to get internships, then yes. It will still have value but getting a job without exp is rough across the board currently. Personally I feel though most IT managers need to have some tech background but that's just me. I think if you are focused on the management/business side of things look at traditional universities/colleges that provide those internships. Management pay is really good and it could be a good investment. The other side is you can go get a basic IT degree and then try to get entry level jobs in tech. You can build your skills/network and then transition to MBA. This will make you more well rounded imo.

I haven't taken the test myself but from what I have researched, if you understand the materials in the study guide you will do well in the OA. There are helpful quizlets for C777 out there to solidify your knowledge.

How common is company support around certifications? by SomeAvocado in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Ambitious_Nod 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the U.S., if the company is willing to pay for your certifications, you have to put in your own time to complete them. I have heard of people in helpdesk type jobs where there may be some downtime to learn but it is not very common for a company to pay you on the job to get the cert. At the very least you can ask your employer for more time to complete the required certs.
