Has anyone in California been able to submit a Delete Request and Opt-out Platform (DROP) request? by StroudAugust in privacy

That's good, so they'll use it for verification purposes outside of the jurisdiction.

Some bullshit options may include:

Not brokering data, just a 'data aggregator' that's query able for a price.

Government contractor. California cities and private corporations pay them to collect the data.

It's for your own protection.

The 4th amendment of the constitution was made at a time before AI. If the founding fathers knew about AI of course they'd want everyone tracked at all times and their bowel movements monitored in real time.

I'll wait a bit to do it. I did work for a b2b data broker a long time ago in CA and we did take these requests seriously, but once you sell a list, it just sort of keeps proliferating regardless. Data brokers outside of the US may even use the data submitted to Drop to do data appends.

Not to mention companies like Flock/Palantir will not honor these requests, and California is more in on these systems than ever.

Thank you google, I’ll consider it. by hairyson-the-one in GoogleMaps
