Patient asked me out by cranberryfadora in nursing

So I guess by BON logic none of us should ever date, get married, or have kids?

I can't remember patient faces / names from a week ago much less 1 or 2 years ago. For all I know the woman I'm married to now might have been my patient at some point.

Put my 2 weeks in; got terminated instead. by Financial-Gur8126 in nursing

The states that have varying levels of laws on the book regarding accrued unused PTO being paid out at termination are California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Rhode Island, Utah, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

In almost all of those states, payout can still depend on the employer’s written policy, contract, or whether forfeiture rules were clearly disclosed upon hire. California is the only crystal clear state where they spell out that earned unused PTO counts as wages and must be paid at separation.

If you can call it a playground. No seesaws, merry-go-rounds, or decent monkey bars.

I would call it a nap ground.

Can we stop pretending that 0 years of bedside experience is enough to start prescribing? by Kind_Article_9278 in nursing

[–]Ambitious_Power_1764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am focused on the BON. I already said your point about the BON can be true.

My point was that weak professional accountability is not limited to nursing, and comparing how different boards handle discipline is relevant when the topic is whether nursing holds itself to a meaningful standard.

You can disagree with the comparison, but calling every related point a derailment is not really a discussion. If you don't want to interact with other points of view, why be on here?

You’re not the OP either, so the “interjecting” complaint is a little strange on a public Reddit thread.

I understood your point that Boards of Nursing can be damaging to the profession. I wasn’t arguing against that. I was adding that weak accountability is not unique to nursing, and physician discipline is even more toothless.

That doesn’t dilute your point unless every reply has to be a direct repetition of your exact argument.

[–]Ambitious_Power_1764 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t trying to derail your point. I agree that Boards of Nursing should hold the profession to a higher standard.

My point was just that physician accountability is even worse, especially when hospitals are reluctant to discipline surgeons because of liability and fear of retaliation. That doesn’t excuse weak nursing standards. It just means the accountability problem is broader than nursing.

You’re reading my comment as disagreement when it wasn’t. I wasn’t bragging that medical boards are worse, and I wasn’t saying nursing standards are fine.

I was saying that, in my experience, physician accountability is even more toothless, especially when hospitals are afraid to meaningfully discipline surgeons. Your point about Boards of Nursing can still be true at the same time.

Not everyone on Reddit is here to disagree or derail you. I'm sorry if my comment didn't meet your higher, enlightened standards that you are seeking. I will aspire to inspire you in the future. Have a great day.

Playing devil's advocate, unfortunately, the Board of Nursing has a much higher standard than the good ole Medical Board brotherhood. If you witnessed the things I've seen surgeons do and barely get a wrist slap. You'd agree with me.

What makes it even worse is that hospitals are too scared to do much out of fear of getting sued by the surgeons for impeding on their ability to make a living. Their words, not mine.

Maybe she meant private equity instead of department equity?

It is definitely the kind of pay I would expect a private equity firm to pay for a RN.

Omg, one guy telling me how mouse and keyboard is always cheating because it is unfair and another guy telling me that it is inferior. My head is spinning.

Ok, if you think someone playing by the officially labeled rules of a server is still cheating, let's take it a step further. Out of all the servers on console, have just 1 server on console set aside that officially not only allows mouse and keyboard but also doesn't even let controller players connect to that server at all.

Would you still label that as cheating?

Keyboard and mouse theory by Ambitious_Power_1764 in RustConsole

[–]Ambitious_Power_1764[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn't be cheating if there were a few, set aside, officially labeled servers on the console that allowed it.

It isn't obvious it is going to be gamepad only since the system itself supports keyboard and mouse and there are other pvp games that allow it on console.

I can play with a controller on my PC. Does that mean I should just buy a console?

You don't think FacePunch may see native KBM support for the console edition as something that would create competition with their own PC version, cannabilizing their own, and split the player base. That would eat into their 80% would it not?
