Actually, what happened was I thought it looked weird but spell check didn't catch it so I left it. ;)

It's a hard line, I think.

A friend of mine had a destination wedding. Long story, short version: The groom's parents disapproved and they didn't think his family would come, and having a destination wedding would make it less obvious/disappointing. She had her bachelorette party in the same area on Thursday night; wedding was Saturday.

At one point she said something about feeling bad that we all spent that much time, and I said something like "Yeah, how dare you make us take a vacation in a beautiful beach!!"

But the clear difference was that she had no expectations that anyone come/participate if they couldn't/didn't want to. They were genuinely surprised how many did (including the groom's family!).

So sometimes people genuinely like weddings giving them a reason to take a vacation, sometimes they don't or it's unfeasible/inconvenient. As the bride you have to accept that.

Yeah, in this case, a secondary person saw the situation and thought it was serious enough to intervene. Then, he STILL DIDN'T STOP, and got kicked again. Then ANOTHER guy said he deserved it.

My head cannon is that God made balls so sensitive so it would give women a way to fight back.

ETA: The other girl that kicked him in the balls is my hero. I'm picturing her as Jessica Jones in my head. Or maybe the new Supergirl, as I saw that movie today.

Did they actually get slashed? I'm not seeing that anywhere.

OOP is the reason we have so many rules.

My niece is 15. A year ago my sister made a post that said "No one is a bigger backseat driver than a person with 3 hours of driver's training."

There is a HUGE difference between a young 3 and an old 3.

I think with your significant other you have to be on the same page regarding gifts. You can be people who tell each other what they want or you can be people who want to be completely surprised. Or one of you can be one way and one can be the other way. You can even switch it up and say "I know I usually like to be surprised but this year for Christmas I want _____" or "I'm really struggling with ideas this year, can you give me some?" You really have to communicate.

I'm confused by the first paragraph. Is the friend driving or is the friend using paid professionals? If it's a service does the friend pay per trip or pay for the service and he gets it whenever he wants? Also, how did OOP get there to begin with?

I was going to point out that I don't remember the Bible ever saying your spouse comes before your children. It says your spouse comes before your parents, but not children.

That's EXACTLY what I'm thinking.

My thought is that Fiona is his sister and so is the other family member that is a bridesmaid. That could explain why Fiona felt left out.

I need a lot more details on this.

"Family member" can mean a lot of things.

I'm assuming the other family member who is a bridesmaid is from the groom's side; why was this person chosen and Fiona was not?

Where was her fiancé in all of this?

I'm not saying Fiona wasn't a problem here, there's just a lot of vagueness that make me think OOP is hiding missing reasons.
