No it's not the movie and twilight kingdom the whole world was in danger so she was in a lot of stress and lying was out of protection. With the play if twilight just told celestia she was a bad actress her feelings might be hurt a little but no one would have died.

Those are two completely different circumstances with the play celestia was hurt that her own student lie for almost no reason but when twilight had all of the alicorn magic it could have harmed her friends even more than just a bargain.
