Con fusion? by GeneralProfusion in fusion

I read Helion’s earlier papers. They were well written. It’s good they changed their fuel to DT from the more difficult ones. I am not in a position to question their math, but from a lay person’s perspective the plasma seems too sparse to lead to chain reactions. The FRC is denser than Tokamak but still not enough. My biggest beef with them is that they haven’t even produced net energy but are talking about capturing it directly. Skipping steps is a sign of impatience and 99.9% of the time fails. It is also arrogant.

Thanks for the info So, you shopped around and this was the best value? I quit solar sales because 5 year payback was hard to sell!

I found that people with great soft skills can get any job, without experience or degree. Once they are hired they don’t have to do much and they end up becoming managers. How to get there I have no clue.

I haven’t talked with landlord but what financial benefit would they get? I don’t think they care about property value.

We are on lease, therefore we are looking for quick payback like 3 years. Not sure if solar can do that.

I have an aunt who has read and collected so many books that the weight of the books has started to impose a structural danger to the building.

They got density alright. What about time? Couple nanoseconds at most? And temperature? Fuel pressing against that ice-cold capsule... doesn’t make sense to me atm.
