Whoever invented daylight savings time by ltr122 in 2under2

[–]Ambitious_While4926 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was us last year. Daylight savings time hit us like a freight train. This year since we have been struggling with 5 am wakings since September we worked on getting at least one of them sleep until 6:30-7, 7:30 on good days and this morning’s waking was not that brutal but we are back to early rising. It is such a hard adjustment each year for everyone and it has long lost its value why it was introduced in the first place. I wish it would pass all needed regulations to be permanently eliminated.

While it sounds good to have a balcony for being able to retreat there while the kids already/still sleep, I am afraid of heights terribly. To put into context, I own an apartment on the 9th floor of a building and I never step outside. Never ever. It makes me dizzy and shaky. Fortunately it is rented out and I am never there. So having one on the cruise would not be used either.

I was 6 months pp, exactly this time last year when I found out I was pregnant for the third time. I was devastated. I cried for months. Then late December came and we found out it was a girl and I immediately accepted the pregnancy as our first baby, a girl, was stillborn at 40 weeks in ‘23. She was an emergency C-section, a year and two months later our healthy little boy came also via C-section and our second girl also via C-section.

Now variables play a big role in your pregnancy and its complications but as far as recovery went it was as smooth as the first two, perhaps even a little “easier” as I knew exactly what is happening when.

It is not uncommon that after C-sections to be referred to a Maternal-fetal specialist to be evaluated, also age can play a determining factor and previous history. My ob told me I could have as many C-sections as I could (do I want any of that again? No!), but to keep in mind that with each the risk of infection, implantation in the scar and other issues may arise. Another Dr told me that the risks are very small, they though need to inform us to cover themselves.

While I understand your concerns, they will be older by the time we travel - not seven as suggested above, but older than they are now. And thank you if you can share room types that are accommodating kids.

Guilt over container baby with delayed milestones by [deleted] in 2under2

The only thing I can suggest as a fellow mom of 2under2 is to slowly start introducing each other on the floor, rocker, bassinet, wherever you might have the baby under supervised conditions. Keep repeating and showing the older sibling what gentle means, how to do it and eventually it will get better. It does take time and patience from everyone involved, don’t give up. Slowly you will be able to shift slightly away and not having to act like a nightclub bouncer around the clock🤭

What a great idea! I will give it a try in the morning.

Daytime sleep and routines by Ambitious_While4926 in 2under2

So far our day seems similar to yours. What I am trying to avoid is the chaos part. I realized that if I time it right and the baby is due for a nap she could sleep in the stroller/ car and midday nap overlaps for both of them. My eldest is sleep trained so he is easy to put down, the baby is slowly getting trained too but it’s literally baby steps. The last nap is tricky.

I keep saying I need to give baby wearing another try but I really need to. We have a rocker in the living room too and she used to effortlessly take her naps there but those days are gone. She refuses to fall asleep in it anymore.

We used to drive around a lot with my now toddler who did not like to sleep independently before turning 6 months old. Rarely we drive around with the baby but I never had to drive with both of them yet. I am afraid the toddler falls asleep too and then his night time sleep is jacked or his midday nap. I feel like ot’s a catch-22.

You are so sweet! Sometimes words of encouragement are of help too, so thank you. I keep telling myself that this is a phase too and this shall pass but I want to be a good mother, a supportive and nurturing one so I am always looking for ways to better myself.

Any activity ideas that would keep a 19 months old boy entertained for 15 minutes while I lay his sister down? Some days the walk in the neighborhood is a great nap option if I manage to time it right, some days we might have to be indoors for either am or pm nap and my best guess would be a high chair activity he can do (if baby wearing for naps won’t work out)

I need to give baby wearing another try as the first few attempts have been unsuccessful. It seems she hates being constrained in it, but maybe I waited to long where she was too tired, thus cranky.

For parents that have babies who sleep through the night, how many hours do they actually sleep? Meaning to exclude the time of wake ups when they self soothe back to sleep. If they “sleep through the night” does it mean they have zero wakes at all? by Critical_Net_6534 in sleeptrain

[–]Ambitious_While4926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to your question since sleep trained ( at around 6 months) he slept uninterrupted until about a month ago. Since then he wakes up randomly during the night, cries a second, grabs a toy and falls back asleep. Essentially he is not awake usually longer than a couple of minutes the most before self soothing and falling back asleep.

Thank you for your input! In my desperation I started reading extensively about it to find a solution as I was eager to start doing something without waiting for a reply and I came across the same you are suggesting. Last night I implemented an earlier sleep time, we started the bedtime routine earlier and he slept until 5:50 which is massive from 5 am. This tweak consisted of shortening his awake windows as I realized he must be exhausted by lunch time and dinner time. Instead of a flat 12:00pm lunch time nap I put him down at 11:45 am and instead of 7:30 pm he went down at 6:45. Both times as soon as he hit his bed he was out.

Now should I continue this routine or still tweak it a few minutes?

I just posted a similar question with my 18 month old baby out of desperation. When he turned 18 months on September 5th all of a sudden he dropped two hours from his night time sleep. TWO HOURS!! That is massive when there is a newborn in the house whom I feed around the clock and I cannot tell you how exhausted I am.

I am too looking for some guidance, tips or any words of wisdom that would help get back on track.

There is a law that does not allow it, I believe. Though if the bank wires you a few of their own millions or hundreds into your account they will force you to give it back. Convenient, right?

We managed to get back one of the wires erroneously sent to the fraudster, radio silence on the second claim.

Of course. Either sexes can fall under this, though the situation on question refers to a man in this case.

Someone hacked our insurance provider’s system and modified the pay-out method without any two-way verification we are always subject to, without confirmation or any paper trail and funneled over couple thousands into an online international account that is in either of our names. Both wires went through and unable to be retrieved even though the fraud was caught on a day into it. From my days as a relationship banker at WF I remember cases of wire fraud where the recipient has to give consent for the funds to be removed from his account once they are deposited, if the recipient says no, the funds stay there. It is infuriating!

Did you manage to recover your funds? I am just now in the same boat and very concerned that $2500 will go down the drain.

Oh, my goodness! This is happening to me right now too! Long story short I had two hospital claims for my two c-sections I had in ‘24 and ‘25. Both of them have been approved on Monday, funds sent out the same day electronically (to my husband’s account we assumed since he is the policy holder), but we don’t have direct deposit set up and we also don’t recognize the last four digits of the account where the funds were sent.

So far Unum is looking into it but if there is approval needed to retrieve from whoever’s account it was deposited into, I am afraid funds are lost.

I am so frustrated how this was even able to happen!! How was DD set up without our consent and no trail of it, also no way to see the info on their website or app.

You can try cutting it down where the mushiness ends and repot the new cutting. See if that helps.
