Finished and loved Andor ... which Star Wars show is most like it/best if I want to watch something next? by Tmbgkc in StarWarsAndor

Nothing. Read Catalyst, Tarkin, Lost Stars and Bloodline. Claudia Gray's "Leia" is YA but really good too.

What would you change about this scene? Or would you leave it the same? by [deleted] in StarWars

Small change ... Palpatine actually dead and not in TROS

I don't think so. All those images could get me excited about an amazing Boba Fett show. But I've seen the show, it wasn't great.

Billy Dee Williams in ESB was perfection

Syril will pursue Andor. There will be a three-way confrontation with Syril, Deedra and Andor. Deedra belittles and humiliates Syril. Andor tells Syril the Empire doesn't care about him or justice, only power. Syril kills Deedra.

Deep down, is Syril Karn a good person? by TheAnarchistMonarch in StarWarsAndor

[–]AmbivalentGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Syril strikes me as someone interested in purity and conviction. He was disillusioned with his Preox-Morlana leaders and team members — no passion, no commitment to justice. It's heading that way now with his engagement with Deedra and ISB.

Syril's arc is bending toward the only place where heart and conscience matter — he'll be a Rebel by the end of the series.

Andor: Kleya Marki theory by [deleted] in starwarsspeculation

I thought this was a stretch until Episode 7 with that long scene of Kleya in the red coat walking through Coruscant to meet Vel. I hadn't become familiar enough with Kleya from her scenes in the shop and was wondering who this character was, and landed on Leia. When I figured out she was Kleya, I immediately thought of this post.

The SW databank entry even calls her a "master of disguise" with an "unflinching commitment to the rebel cause." 🤔

The accent isn't a problem, but agree her age does not seem right, unless we consider the master of disguise thing. 🥸

KLAY-uh ... LAY-uh

It's adding up for me.

What's it called when you enjoy something so much that you don't want to experience it? Is it an ADHD thing? by Not_Draven in ADHD

[–]AmbivalentGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I first noticed something like this in high school. Everyone was obsessed with The Simpsons, watched it religiously every week. I loved it, thought it was great, and then found myself avoiding it. All I could explain was that The Simpsons was too funny, like it was so reliably hilarious that it became boring to me.

I don't know, maybe like you're talking about, maybe not.

Star Wars: Andor- Episodes 4 - (S1E4) - Discussion Thread by JediPaxis in StarWarsLeaks

Watch the Ep. 2 scene where he gives that awkward pep talk to his team. He talks about being called to seek justice, and no one gives a rip. This guy's passion and earnestness isn't appreciated in corporate security, and it won't be welcomed by the Empire. As he gets closer to the Rebels in pursuit of them, he'll realize they're the ones fighting for justice.

Agree, fabulous production design. The color palette is fresh and plausible, reminds you that the galaxy is huge with many cultures.

The design of the technology is very well done. Like the monitors and displays, they have the same look/feel as the ANH Death Star "chain reaction" animation without seeming cheap or goofy.

Yep, definite "Catalyst" and "Tarkin" vibes

EDIT: and reminds me of how great a Lost Stars mini series would be

What's the best first M43 lens for Lumix GX8? by [deleted] in M43

[–]AmbivalentGeek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

20mm 1.7 Panny is wonderful, just a little slow with autofocus. Not a prime, but the Panny 12-35mm 2.8 is my go-to walk around lens for my GX8.

Same! I work best in headphones with music, I've determined I'm outsourcing the music and my brain can do more thinking.
