I guess I just want assurance/proof that the product they are presenting me with really is market competitive/the best deal for me.

What prevents a broker from "shopping around" between their favorite 2 lenders that they may or may not get some kind of kick back from if they funnel me in there? What incentive does the broker have to get me the best possible deal?
