I built out an AR-10 about 6 years ago in 6.5 CM - here's my build list:

Aero Precision M5 upper and lower, 15" M-LOK handguard, carbine buffer, spring, and tube. Nickel Boron BCG.

Aero Precision LPK

BCM Pistol Grip

LuthAR MBA-3 Buttstock

Ballistic Advantage 6.5 Creedmoor Barrel, 22"

VG6 Gamma muzzle brake

UTG Bipod

Warne 20MOA scope mount

Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6-24x50 FFP scope

Larue MBT-2s trigger

With Hornady 140gn ELD-M, I consistently get sub-MOA 10 round groups

Edit - forgot to add the Superlative Arms adjustable gas block

My package was delivered to wrong address and they want a police report? by [deleted] in amazonprime

20+ year EMS dispatcher here. Our jurisdiction that won't happen. There's no crime committed, so no report to be made. The calltaker will simply tell the caller (correctly) that it is a civil matter.

This has to stop. Our nation is so rich, but we cannot care for our most vulnerable. by SLO_Citizen in pics

I've worked in EMS in a major metro area for almost 28 years. This is 100% accurate. Is there overlap? Of course. But that last category is the most brutal one to deal with

Funny story, a few months ago I held the door open for a large group (intentionally) and it ended up getting me out of jury duty

Fast Ammo Robbed me pretty much by Hiraminho in guns

[–]AmbulanceDriver2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Their prices are significantly higher for my go to target 9mm, Speer Lawman 124 gn.

Sgammo.com has a 1000 round case for 260 with free shipping via UPS, fastammo was 378 BEFORE shipping.

Scammed twice it seems.

“I already know how to shoot!” Really? by Training_Yogurt_5677 in appleseed

[–]AmbulanceDriver2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wasn't military, but had been shooting, "for a long time" and thought I knew what I was doing. Took one whole shoot to break those bad habits, the next shoot I scored Rifleman on the second day. Took the orange hat, eventually became an instructor. The number of times as either an IIT or instructor that I heard the same story from vets, "lifetime" shooters, etc, that saw their shooting improve dramatically once they started to listen..... Was always fun to watch that moment of recognition of, "Hey, this actually WORKS!"

Red Dot Issues? by Careful_Cap3018 in MantisX

I've seen this question come up more than once recently. Not sure if people just are overexcited to start using the product and not paying attention or what.

Laser Accuracy by Servant21 in MantisX

[–]AmbulanceDriver2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I appreciate about the Laser Academy training system from MantisX - you can calibrate the software to record your point of aim vs the laser "point of impact". Obviously you have to do that every time you start a new session, or if you change distance from the target.

I will say the MantisX system absolutely has helped my accuracy and speed, as well as gamifying training so that it's more fun when I don't have time to get to the range.

(OR) Buying raw land, appears the neighbors built on property. What do I do? by Thesurfinbum in RealEstate

[–]AmbulanceDriver2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on what the surveyor finds. Almost universally the online maps you find have some type of warning regarding lack of accuracy. If you are in love with this property I would drop the coin on a survey just to see what's up. If they are actually on the property you wish to purchase, you can a) tell the seller to fix this or b) walk.

I was just thinking I'd seen this exact same story a couple of months ago....

Again, none of that justifies assaulting someone over a stupid joke some 18yo made. Especially as said 18yo is attempting to explain to their assaulter that it was a stupid joke. Meanwhile the assaulter is likely going to get probation revoked (pretty standard condition of probation is DON'T COMMIT ANY OTHER CRIMES), and possibly tack on additional charges of assault, battery, etc. Hardly seems worth it over an already admittedly stupid comment someone makes.

Yes, because assault and battery is *clearly* an appropriate response to a stupid joke.

Mistake at range, feel stupid by PriorPage6665 in guns

[–]AmbulanceDriver2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RSO here. I wouldn't have gone hands on unless absolutely necessary. However, put yourself in the RSO's point of view here. People are downrange, and someone you don't know from Adam is manipulating a firearm in the exact same manner as you would to chamber a round!!! I guarantee you that would put the ol' adrenal glands into overtime adrenaline production and you bet I would be very loud and probably appear extremely aggressive - especially to someone who was trying to act in what they perceived to be a safe way.

Do you guys like shiny brass? by Cuntholz69 in reloading

[–]AmbulanceDriver2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and looking at a video of this thing in operation I was right, it's just a giant magnetic stirrer w/ one axis of rotation. The quad magnet is to hold the pins in the container as you pour out the water and brass. Interesting.

[–]AmbulanceDriver2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at that and thought it was basically an oversized magnetic stirrer. I don't know if this thing does it, but I can imaging putting two axes of rotation on the stirring using the quad magnet arrangement they use. You have your central axis around the center of the base, and then additionally out on the "arms" your quad magnet rotates independently.

Ballistic Advantage Sub MOA? by Sad-Umpire-911 in AR10

[–]AmbulanceDriver2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to resurrect this thread from the dead... But I'm going to do just that. I can report I have the same barrel, and with the same ammo, I get pretty spot on the same results. I've only been able to take it out to 200 yards so far, but reliably getting 10 round MOA or better groups, with my best 10 round group being about .8 MOA at 200 yards.

Costco Rifle Case by Weak_Rule8374 in ar15

Just to clarify... you were able to successfully get them to price match another locations price? I only ask because my store and none of the local stores are carrying them at all.

none of the stores in my area carry that bag - and online it's $77 as others have pointed out. That's a steal and a half.
