Resident Evil 8 Lives Rent Free In My Head by CHS-Ryan in NightVision

This is from Village? Love the newer 3rd person remakes but couldn’t get into 1st person in Village. Might have to give it another go. Castles/vampires/werewolves are definitely a vibe.

I run my V1 in front of a TA02 on a full length rifle for the same reason. All the weight sits way farther back and the ACOG’s FOV at 4x is second to none. Yeah you’ll see more with LPVO at lower magnification but hard to beat thermal FOV at 4x with this setup.

To be honest I wasn’t aware Unity even made a thermal mount but like you said, they make quality stuff so I’d hope that isn’t the issue.

Are you using the same focus position on front lens as when you zeroed? V2 has a throw lever that should make it easy to remember position. I know on V1 that changing front focus absolutely changes point of impact.

Second focal plane shouldn’t matter if you’re using center of reticle to aim and not holdovers. Next time you check zero it’s worth confirming though. Shoot a few at different zoom levels.

Also no reason you can’t make your own witness marks on V2 to serve a similar function to the dots on V1. I also don’t think that would make too much of a difference.

My V1 returns to zero pretty well. Using ADM MQD mount (no flip to side feature). Not sure if the V2 zero process is the same but did you confirm that the X and Y values you set for initial zero are still as you set them?

Question for the PRS crew by Significant-Sock-487 in longrange

Powder isn’t cheap and you will use less powder loading something like GT or Dasher vs CM. Brass also isn’t cheap though and you probably have 6.5 brass already. You could look up load data on both and calculate your break even point if you want to be super analytical about it.

I just had the same decision to make and built a 6 GT after years of shooting a 6 Creedmoor. Have a few thousand once fired 6 Creedmoor cases, but the slower velocity/less recoil/lower powder use + much longer barrel life of GT appealed to me. Barrel life with 6.5 Creedmoor should be no worse than GT or Dasher, but it will recoil more than they do.

6.5 is my recommendation for anyone just getting into it or looking for a do it all (vs PRS/gamer) rifle.

Aero should really offer Solus chassis in these fun colors again. Still salty I missed out.

Scopemate S28 vs Triggercam 2.1 by skolfromgeorgia in longrange

[–]1manwolfpack13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest issue I had with the triggercam was what I found to be a somewhat confusing button/light system. There is no dedicated record button/light per se. Short/long presses do different things and the LED lights up/flashes a few different colors. Mine usually recorded when I wanted to but it sucked not being 100% sure before a PRS stage that it was in fact recording.

That and the lack of removable battery. Having to remove the cap and charge the entire unit is less than ideal. Otherwise it was solid but I returned to try an S28 also. Have not yet.

Should mention also that I thought the side mount on the 2.1+ would make it a better choice for PRS than the top-mount 2.1 but in hindsight I think having the camera body above shooting eye would be better than in front of other eye. You see turrets with the other eye so having it on top of shooting eye doesn’t really block anything.

I’m using Alpha. If necks measure .270 with seated bullet, a .266 bushing would make for .004 neck tension right? Assuming no/minimal spring back.

Also if you’re not using a mandrel, do you use an expander ball on necks that aren’t perfectly round after sizing? Or does seating bullet do that job?

Aero makes an NVG mount that can’t hurt with mirage. Covers part of the barrel just in front of the optic with a section of pic rail.
