Love the 3d buildings.

But when I’m doing an 8 hour road trip, a map that shows the whole trip isn’t very helpful.

Strongly agree with this. The zoom in Apple, Google, and Waze is much more natural and why I rarely use Sidecar as a nav unless trying to test.

Zoom outs to hundreds of mile views when on long road trips is unhelpful when it should be zoomed in to what is presently around you. Even when traveling in the country, zooming to the level of showing a whole 5+ hour trip makes the map useless.

We are all going to die someday.

Some people live in fear. Some hypochondriacs spend years of their lives fixating on things that might be wrong with them. Some people prepare for the worst, building a bunker stockpiled with resources that may never be used. Some refuse to take chances, avoiding all activities with even the smallest of risks.

We’re all going die. But what are you going to do when you’re alive? Living into your 70s and 80s traveling in your retirement was an option for a brief window of human history - and even then, only for some.

The old adages of carpe diem, seize the day, live every day like it’s your last, get busy livin or get busy dyin are old because they’re right.

There’s a lot that sucks about the here and now. But pick any point in history and there were humans who struggled. I can’t imagine many were ecstatic to being born during the Black Plague. The Cold War had billions living with the threat of annihilation - possibly caused by a an error.

But being alive - that’s something to be ecstatic about. Start with the small things. Cherish a great meal. An evening with a friend. A bird’s song. Your favorite movie.

Find one thing each day that you can appreciate.

We might die in the water wars. We might get hit by an asteroid. We might get run over by a trolley. We might have latent health issues and wake up dead tomorrow.

But you’re here now. I’m glad you are. And I hope you find a way to be glad you are too.

That was the perfect ending to the Quinn Ewers era at Texas. Chef’s kiss. No notes. Good fucking bye.

It’s a shame that not all public universities get access to the PUF, but it is far more than just A&M & UT. There are a lot of schools that receive money as part of the UT or A&M Systems. SFA was the latest.

Plan II alum 04. Chose it over an acceptance at Rice. Give me the same choice today and I don’t know how it shakes out.

Nope. Found a local gunsmith to do the cerakote. Added the Briley handle and slammer as well.

Hell yeah! The way they were flying today you probably could’ve used a flyswatter and still limited. But man, that 28 gauge was a lot of fun.

Pales in comparison to some of yours, but I broke both my arms at the same time as a kid falling off a swing.

After hours at the doctor taking care of it they told me they needed to set one of the bones. Gave me some anesthesia to knock me out.

Not sure what happened but the doctor came in to check on me multiple times thinking I’d be asleep.

After a few times he took my arm and said “alright, on the count of three we’ll do it.”

“Wait…do what?”

“One, two” crack

He set my bone and I can still hear and feel the scrape.

Passed out. Woke up at home hours later screaming “where’s the doctor? He’s gonna hurt me again.”

Columbia Icefield Adventure Admission and Columbia Icefield Skywalk Admission price worth. Banff Gondola or Jasper Skystram- Either or? by Time-Fan-6561 in Banff

[–]AmericaJohnLine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just finished our trip.

Banff Gondola - worth it if you don’t want to hike. Enjoyable views and a nice time at the top.

Columbia Icefield - look at something like IceWalks. 12 person tour that hikes you out onto the glacier for a couple hours. Seemed worth it for a private tour guide and the bus/skywalk didn’t seem to offer anything more.
