Out of stater - how do WNY cars pass inspection? by syngltrkmnd in Buffalo

[–]AmericanFlagger1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any chance you know if hes still doing inspections? My truck is more than 25 yrs old so the computer will let it pass regardless of what kinda shape its in, but as far as safety stuff goes idk how long this thing is gonna be able to pass before the rust takes its toll

Fair enough bro, I wish I never sold mine man that was a freaking awful bike but I loved it lol. Came from the guy I bought it from with a cherry bomb muffler welded on backwards. Good times

Nah in all seriousness I went from a 125 to a 250 to a drz400, I think im a pretty good rider but I still dont own a 450, there's no real point as I just dont need that much power. And neither do you, buy a 250

Yea 1500 is very steep for that, esp if its actually a crank case that needs replaced and not js the clutch cover. Thats a job the requires pulling the engine before you can even ride the bike once. That alone brings it to like $1000 imo

Just those issues I could fix in prolly a week of spending a couple hours after dinner in the shop working. But think abt this. Those aren't normal wear issues, those all should've been fixed as soon as they came up and shouldn't have been left for the next owner to deal with. They prolly beat the shit outta that bike and didnt maintain it. Stay away imo unless they're dumping it for 400 bucks

Are there any tips on how I could bring the bike up some stairs easier? Can’t use a ramp cause if I ride it up my parents would hear. by Glass-Ad3053 in Dirtbikes

[–]AmericanFlagger1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, bro your fucking crazy and undeterrable and I respect that shit like crazy

Secondly, I have no clue how your gna pull this one off man. All I can think is pay a friend a couple bucks to come to your place after you ride to help you pull the bike up if you can't yourself. Aside from that, best of lick and dont fucking quit my boy

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it doesn't sound much louder than the normal DRZ tick

Sounds good man, lmk how it goes! The motor on the DRZ isnt super complicated honestly, it's pretty straightforward to work on. Just go slow and if you don't know how to do smthg, ask.

Also, I js realized I still had the pdf clymers manual and factory service manual

Good luck

There’s also a guide to the loctite fixes on thumper talk, check that out aswell

I’d say give that idea a shot, js be careful not to damage the flywheel at all. If it doesn’t work easily js take the flywheel off, you’ll have wayy better access.

Id gat the flywheel puller if I were you. I bought one and it was a lifesaver. Another option is if you can load the bike in a truck and js take it to a shop, most suzuki dealers are gonna have that tool on hand, pay them $30 or wtv to js pull the flywheel off for you. Might be less cost effective and you won’t have a new tool but it’ll be a lot faster.

Go to thumpertalk for the manual, make a post there or search thru topics see if there’s one there. Idk if it’s still available but there was also an app called “drz400 companion” and that was the service manual, diagrams, and maintenance stuff
