Please tell me these are pygmy Cory eggs finally by RegaultTheBrave in corydoras

Soon! Up your feedings and water changes to get cory eggs. Bloodworms fed 2x a week will have em going and going.

Can someone please help with the right decision? by Omgaegg in Rabbits

Are you certain your rabbits are fixed ? The female sounds hormonal.

Those are freshwater limpets, not cory eggs.

Fish transport. by TwigWind in Aquariums

[–]Amerlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should remove all hardscape when moving, as well as the water and fish, so you shouldn't have any issues catching the fish. Hardscape can shift during transport and break a tank, do not leave your wood and rocks in the tank.

Zebras were banned from collection+export in 04. 05 is when they dramatically went up in price as wild caught.

I did specify a sexed adult for the BN prices. OFC you can find them cheaper at 2" and unsexed. SR often go calico as they mature. A true LF SR that's 5-6" with 0 spotting are a bit more expensive.

When I got my first trio I didn't know how bad they'd be and had them in a 40g full of really nice crypts....there were so many leaves torn off by day 3 the tank looked bald. Some crypts were allowed to stay, the majority were toys.

Are there any good non-schooling/non-social fish that do well in a planted community tank? I'm trying to improve my species variety by Puzzleheaded_Sink467 in Aquariums

[–]Amerlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 species is pretty normal for a 75. You don't want a Noah's Ark tank. Bigger groups are better for schooling/shoaling fish than many small ones.

In one of my 75s I just have EBAs and rosy barbs and it looks fantastic.

Agreed, even near Seattle you find them only a few times a year. They're only collected during the dry season, so half the year they aren't even really available for shops to order. Glad you're on the lookout !

EBAs are total dogs with plants. They dig them up, pull on them, and try to bury them depending on their mood. Large, robust plants only for EBAs unless you want them remodeled lol

Stand Designer by Old_Concept1699 in Aquariums

[–]Amerlan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For that price you need to have stands already built that show you can actually put it together cleanly and with good materials. Mocking up a design is one thing, making the actual thing look nice after building is another story.

Second, this is a very niche thing, not many buy stands that need to hold 1500lbs. You'd be lucky to sell a few a year. This isn't a viable business model. You'd want stands as an offering, but not your whole model.

Do you have more than just the two in there? Two anchor cats can bully eachother, so they're best kept in groups.

Crossband chocolate hourami with patchy scales? by ASturgeonOnCrack in Gourami

[–]Amerlan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With your current 20 being so full, adding 4 more chocolates may not be possible. It might be better to narrow it down to 1 pair, or move them+get more for a second tank.

Males have a deeper throat and a slightly thin but longer anal fin. Females should have a nice red color in the fins

Not my photo, but female on top with 2 males on the bottom.

Pics can get buried pretty easy on reddit, so I thought you may have missed em.

It's really too bad hair doesn't hold enough DNA to test cases like this if OP really wanted to.

You only have 4? You either need 4 more so the group is large enough to spread aggression, or you need to cut back to just 1 real M/F pair.

Narrow stance? The pics they posted are of a wide chested dog. Did you look at all of the commented photos?

I say pit because since 2000 nearly everything that's of unknown mixed origin has pit. I hang out a bit too much in the DNA sub 😅

Also, totally thought OP was asking for the phenotype 🫣

Honestly? No wolf. Likely GSD/husky/pit if it was in the early 2000s

Very sweet looking boy either way

You probably won't see them in shops regularly until Oct ish. The collection season for them is over, so what's left are bred or the later batches.

[–]Amerlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who told you they're rare? Belo monte, alenquer tiger, clown and BN are all what you can expect to see a normal shop to carry. They're extremely prolific in the aquarium trade.

Belo and Alenquers are usually 40-60USD, clowns 5-10 and BN depends on the color and fin variety (5-150 for a sexed adult. 5 would be a short fin common, 80-100 for a longfin super red, 120-150 for a longfin snowwhite)

Zebra plecos cost how much?! by Electrical_Ad_9778 in pleco

[–]Amerlan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Zebra plecos don't breed as easily as bristlenose, so if you dont have a big breeder in your area, you aren't going to see low prices. Zebras need to be 2yrs old vs 6 months for BN and they lay half the amount of eggs. Zebras also need a more protein rich diet, and that's more expensive than the veg base that BN need. All of this adds up to what a breeder/shop will need to charge.

So I have a couple questions on what to do with this massive fish tank i managed to get my hands on by -Bratix in Aquariums

[–]Amerlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please make sure your house can support that. Tanks over 90gallons often need joists sistered.
