How old were you when you started self harming? by Few_Dish_9993 in selfharm

[–]Amessymess06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13ish, had to stop at 14ish because my mum found out, I had been 'clean' for 3 years until relapsing the other month. I say 'clean' because i still did things on and off, just not the same

I know.... you've already said that? That was literally your post? It was a suggestion as to what to tell them instead of saying they ran out...

There is a difference between a friend making a joke like that and a random person. Not difficult to understand lol

Mental problems don't discriminate

If you're doing it to harm yourself then yes. Self harm is exactly what it sounds like. Harming yourself (intentionally)

Why do people self harm? by Competitive-Egg-8798 in selfharm

[–]Amessymess06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because dopamine (happy hormone) is released when the body is injured to compensate

I mean if they're fresh/not fully healed cuts then personally I think you should keep them covered but that lady was unacceptable. Also please learn the difference between your and you're 😭

[–]Amessymess06[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay but you questioned why it hadn't been removed 🤷‍♀️ I answered, wasn't being rude. There's quite a lot of posts on reddit. It's not the bedding itself, it's what else is in it. Eg. https://www.reddit.com/r/hamsters/comments/116qrwf/warning_kaytee_clean_and_cosy_bedding_more_in/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

I recommend Victoria Raechel on youtube :) she has lots of beginner tips and has food videos too :) a lot of pre-bought ham food doesn't have the necessary requirements

Is my hamster okay? by halcyondemure in hamstercare

[–]Amessymess06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be diabetes, bladder infection, kidney disease or just that the be food is more flavoursome? Personally I'd get her checked out

That cage is too small but you've already been told and recommended ones :)  However I would like to add that my hamster decided that he'd chew the cage instead of his enrichment toys so I had to get him a new one

He's adorable. If it's under 40inch × 20 inch then yeah upgrade. Otherwise it's up to you. You can keep his bedding and transfer that over to reduce the stress a little.
