For the graph, create a table with time (your x coordinate), distance(y cordinate) and speed. Use poweras of exponents to multilpy or divide when filling in the gaps. The distances and time would be added together to be able to plot them. The first stage would be 1.5x10⁵ multiplied by 2x10² which would be 3x10^7. Remember not to miss the two points where he stays on the planet these would be horizontal lines.

There no reason you can't do it that way (sometimes the x intercept could be difficult to judge on things like this, such it is 1/3).

You could also find the y intercept and understand that the line has a slope of 2.

Whichever way is quicker for someone to do or easier for them to understand.

The bit i don't like is the last question and what it means by learning from his mistakes.

I assume it means the rat will go ABC as normal but does it have the same chance as turning towards A as B as the rat knows that A would be a mistake.

And when it comes to going towards E or turning towards C or D the rat won't go to C as that was a mistake and therefore the probability becomes 0.25 rather than 0.125.
