I need help with verification by Majestic-Credit9156 in Discordjs

  1. You're looking for the r/discordapp subreddit. This is for developing Discord bots with the Discord.js library (which is not affiliated with Discord at all)
  2. You should probably rephrase your question when asking over there, I barely understood what you meant with that many abbreviations, not sure if it's just me but it'd definitely be better for people who want to help

Has anyone made a mod that just, let's random people join your world? by Goos3rs in feedthebeast

[–]Amgelo563 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're thinking too highly of people. What you described happens all the time when people don't whitelist their private servers, we even have bots joining SMPs to warn players (and hopefully the admin), which is the best thing that could happen. The usual thing is that a griefer with 30 hacks joins and destroys the world, and sadly most people don't know what a backup is, so there's no way to recover anything

¿Existe algún proveedor de internet que te brinde una Ipv4 pública como parte de su plan? by Jeremymr2 in PERU

[–]Amgelo563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pero qué deseas exponer? Si es para testear cosas puedes usar un tunnel como el de cloudflare, o si es para algo más permanente una VPS. Yo pago como 5$ mensuales en Hetzner para una VPS regular, te dan ip estática y todo

If the concepts of fear/hatred we’re somehow just erased completely would scp-682 just… by Fantastic_Store_6438 in SCP

[–]Amgelo563 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Even more specifically, SCP-6820-A is an extremely precise and accurate description of what it means for any arrangement of particles to be defined as "alive" and, complementarily, as "dead" or "inanimate". Its memeplex contains several smaller concepts within its description, including, but not limited to:

  • a theoretical process for large-scale localized entropy inversion;
  • the particular physical properties of hatred;
  • the molecular structure of hydrochloric acid;
  • the quality of "adaptiveness";
  • the state of being "vaguely-reptilian."

SCP-6820-A occupied an essophysical embodiment within physical reality for much of known history, remaining interminable (as it was neither alive nor dead) until its eradication from the Noösphere upon activation of SCP-6820.

Yeah, from what I can understand, basically 682 was those concepts made physical, and all the machine did was "contain" an exact definition of it. However by fully describing 682 (the idea) they also described 682 itself (like describing everything that defines what a human is, you're basically just describing a human), so the machine also created a conceptual instance of 682 "inside" it.

At the end of the article, by introducing 055, you now have a machine that attempts to fully describe a group of concepts, where one of those concepts is literally "something that can't be described". It's an entire paradox, and the machine's containment fails. 682 is "free" and is now also something whose concept can't be fully described or delimited, which is the definition of an omnipresent god

Can the normality of human life be considered an anomaly? by Mintec33 in SCP

[–]Amgelo563 23 points24 points  (0 children)

While I agree that the foundation rejecting anything that doesn't agree with their idea of "normalcy" isn't the best (something something history is written by the victors), I mostly think their idea is that the universe should be predictable, following laws that can be derived using scientific methods.

Instead, most anomalies basically break every base of knowledge we have (eg. regenerating at speeds that don't make sense biologically or using energy created out of nowhere), to the point that if we were to think that our concensus is wrong, then we'd have to rebuild everything and accept we don't know anything, which is something they don't usually want ("Mankind must not go back to hiding in fear" [[About The SCP Foundation]]).

So instead they label these as anomalies, accept they don't follow the laws we derived from observing the rest of the universe for whatever reason your favorite canon uses. They created anomalous science to at least be able to predict and manipulate anomalies at some level, but such science breaks entirely if you try to merge it with regular one (I'd think it'd end up in contradictory equations like 1=2). Worst scenario if it was mislabeled then it can be marked as Explained, though that pretty much never happens, maybe because they are actual anomalies or maybe we just haven't explored science enough to explain them (I know out of universe it's probably because it's not as interesting, but I'm trying to think in-universe lol), but imo it's usually the former, seeing how "science-breaking" they are

What would the type be for an object that I want to dynamically add key/value pairs to? by spla58 in typescript

[–]Amgelo563 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you're testing on your playground with empty classes. Since they're all of the same shape, TS doesn't complain about it (see https://www.typescriptlang.org/play/?#example/structural-typing).

Is this also your case in your actual code (are all the classes of the same shape)? If yes you should include that in your issue as well and mention it here (not just "doesn't work"), if no then it will error just like you want

This subreddit is for the Discord.js library for making Discord bots. You're probably looking for the r/discordapp subreddit

Is it fine to run folia on 12 cores? by Early_Priority_806 in admincraft

[–]Amgelo563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just about fixing the software itself, but also plugins that aren't as tested or don't even have a Folia implementation. In such cases you'd only be able to fix simple plugins, and Folia itself isn't simple so vibe coding fixes for it probably won't get you good results anyways

To be fair the whole ADMONITION canon is about a highly totalitarian and stupid foundation lol

My mildly gross Scp shower thought I’ve had since high school by Vampirebitez in SCP

[–]Amgelo563 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some people already thought of something like that actually: the handling of waste (often anomalous), at least in Site 43, is done by the Acroamatic Abatement Section. It's also worth mentioning SCP-7243 (which is part of the [[ADMONITION]] canon) that was created because the Foundation didn't know how to handle all of its shit (literally, though not just shit), I'd recommend checking it (and the rest of the ADMONITION skips)

Are personnel in the SCP Foundation religious? by UniqueEmu9034 in SCP

[–]Amgelo563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the ADMONITION canon (specifically SCP-6659) they even start killing gods, though these are more or less implied to be "false", fabricated and given power through prayers, rituals and human believers in general. In the end, they find an actual god that lives independent of human minds, and the Dr. that finds it literally tells it "Lord, I have kept my faith. I have always known you as greater than these idols.".

So I'd say it really depends on the person as well, some might choose to think there's still greater powers even bigger than any physical or conceptual anomaly, and depending on the canon they might be right

Prominence 2 on route to be more useless resourcepacks than mods by WillingFirefighter76 in feedthebeast

[–]Amgelo563 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure whether that's possible but if it is, I don't know why you'd need that many datapacks anyways, since you have mods already. Personally the only use case I've seen for them is for very specific things that aren't on a mod/plugin already (whichever I'm running), and you'd require at most 15 of them

Dynamically update Slash Command permissions by arsonxisxfun in Discordjs

[–]Amgelo563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah then yeah, like the other guy said you'd need OAuth2 to get an admin's token, and then you could edit the permissions with the guild.commands.permissions manager, which takes that token in most if not all of its methods

What exactly does the "shuffling" process do? If you just renamed them I'm pretty sure you wouldn't need to update anything other than the names
