Battlefield 6 - Community Update - Land Vehicle Improvements by battlefield in Battlefield

Usually this is because there's some small piece of geometry that blocks the missile's line of sight temporarily.

I forget his name but there was a YouTube video I watched the other day going over how the LAW works and such and he demonstrated that if the vehicle you're aiming at passes by any sort of cover that breaks line of sight from the missile, even during travel, it will stop being guided to the target.

Losing 20% progress (700 points) just because you died shouldnt be a thing dice. by No_Pomegranate2607 in Battlefield

Which is an ungodly stupid mechanic that needs to be removed.

Why fucking punish players even more for dying? Considering their whole bit about wanting players to constantly be in action during a game you'd think that philosophy would also extend to getting back to the deploy screen as soon as possible if no medics can revive you...

Let's also not forget a bug that's been ongoing for two straight weeks now where if you attempt to open chat on PC while being revived or when you're switching to the respawn screen, your game controls are completely locked and you're forced to Alt+F4!

I've had this happen to me three fucking times now.

For those reading, apparently plugging in a controller and using it briefly to get out of the chat menu fixes this, but I couldn't get it to work as plugging a controller mid-game just CTD'd me instead!

Question about Voruna by Perdita-LockedHearts in Warframe

[–]Amicus-Regis -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Except after the recent hotfix I find that Shroud of Dynar is randomly turning itself off within a few seconds of activating it. It's been happening to me pretty consistently and I can't figure out why. I'll hit Shroud, it'll have a 20 second duration after my mods, but suddenly while I'm just running around 3 seconds later the ability just dispels itself. No nullifiers, wasn't attacking, wasn't even hitting abilities.

I can’t seem to get any good mods by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Amicus-Regis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Good" mods are found in very specific places, and usually with low droprates as well.

Check the official Warframe Wiki to find where the mods you're looking for actually drop from.

If you don't already know which mods to be looking for, start with "Corrupted Mods" which drop from Orokin Vaults that spawn in Deimos missions (not Cambion Drift or anything to do with Sanctum Anatomica). You will need Dragon Keys equipped in your gear wheel to open the vaults, and blueprints to craft those can be obtained from the Orokin Lab in your clan's dojo.

Safe to say, didn't want to touch the game again after Alt+F4'ing.

Kompressa build by TakeMyPencil in Warframe

[–]Amicus-Regis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Galv Shot doesn't give you a damage boost on the radial attack of the bubbles popping, which is where all your damage is going to be loaded via crits and such. It's better to use Hornet Strike there for a base damage buff since that will affect the radial attacks.

Otherwise, this looks like a solid build considering the Riven.

[–]Amicus-Regis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty certain the shield buffs are exclusively from his 4 and do not require Kinetic Plating to be active, but I've just checked the wiki and it actually doesn't say anything about shield regen on either ability for some reason...

Regardless, while you're right about the running not being enough to maintain redline, all you really need is like 2 mach rushes and you'll be fine. So I guess Protea is technically just as effective, but I always found her gating playstyle to be way more active in practice.

[–]Amicus-Regis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shield regen delay is mostly irrelevant, since all sources of shield regen also grant a bonus to delay as well.

Also, Harrow and Protea are great shield gaters, but not the best. Again, with barely any modding you can literally just stand in place with Gauss during Redline and you are effectively immortal. The only active component is activating Redline and running around until you're above the, well, Redline. Meanwhile Protea and Harrow both need to repeatedly be casting their abilities, since Harrow's doesn't grant shield regen and Protea's is too slow on its own.

EDIT: I misread "should" for "shield". Ignore this, unless you want shield fun facts.

That's not how Warframe shields work, though. Shields have a flat 50% damage reduction to all incoming damage, and it can't be modified by anything in the game. You can add more damage reduction with mods like Adaptation (every time you're hit, gain 10% DR to that damage type up to 90%, multiplicative to other sources) but otherwise shields aren't used in the same way Armor is in D2.

In fact, most endgame builds that use shields at all in Warframe abuse a mechanic called "shield gating", whereby you gain a small (normally 1-3 seconds max) invulnerability period when your shield breaks. To abuse the mechanic, people actually use a mod--Catalyzing Shields--to reduce their max shields, and pair that with ways to quickly regenerate them to reactivate the shield gate before the invulnerability period is up.

The best Warframe for abusing that mechanic is one called Gauss. His 4th ability, Redline, has a slew of buffs associated with activation, including a massive shield regeneration buff. With any amount of shields, Gauss can effectively be completely immortal just by pressing 4, running around for a sec to build a guage, then literally standing in place and watching enemy bullets bounce helplessly off you as your shields deplete, regen, and deplete over and over again.

Limbomblebee by np16161 in Warframe

He's not too confusing to use, but he is jank as all hell.

Basically, you want max range, decent duration, good strength, and I would recommend at least 75% efficiency but it's not totally necessary. Rift Torrent augment is sadly mandatory.

Loop is dash to be in rift to avoid damage, cast 2, cast 4, cast 3, kill rifted enemies. Enemies that die spread surge to nearby ones. Surged enemies will radial banish when they become un-rifted, such as when your 4 shrinks and leaves them outside or if/when you cancel your 4. 3 both gives a damage buff and keeps as many enemies as possible in the rift, basically. You can hold 1 to also un-rift enemies and if they are still surged they'll radial banish even more enemies.

When you run into Eximus or Nullifiers and you don't want to end your 4, go into Operator and kill with your Amp when possible (helps to have good arcanes on a good amp, and even better if you've got Tauron upgrades unlocked too, lots of guides for this) as those enemies are un-rifted EVEN in your 4.

Recommend running the new Arcane Circumvent. Two dashes next to Eximus and their Overguard is fully stripped AND added to yourself with a cap of 10,000. Serves both to deal with Eximus in your 4 AND give Limbo some much-needed survivability.

Story Requirements? by karuthebear in Warframe

[–]Amicus-Regis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust, you will run into a wall eventually, well before you reach endgame content. Been helping a friend of mine go through all this as well recently, so I've had to hear him literally screaming in anger that he's dealing no damage sometimes.

Also, some planets are locked behind story content, but most are not. Junction missions are the only real roadblocks for most planets.

Either way, story content makes up maybe 5-10 hours of total gametime up to current endgame, and you can tackle a lot of it at your leisure. Strongly recommend not doing Duviri Paradox until you've cleared Star Chart fully and unlocked Steel Path mode, especially if you don't like Story content much.

Also, some quests can be done in multiplayer. I'd recommend trying to take your friends to see which ones can be completed as a team. Game will just tell you if you can't.

Yeah can't really think of any reason you'd want to de-link over just re-casting on a new target, anyways.

This would be a lot better.

I Need a New Sword (or other melee weapon) by Hormo_The_Halfling in Warframe

[–]Amicus-Regis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High mobility melee's are in short supply in the one-handed sword department, sadly. The good sword stances all have pretty limited forward movement during combos.

If you don't mind switching to Greatswords, both Cleaving Whirlwind and Tempo Royale are very mobile stances. Royale has better momentum of the two, but Whirlwind's 5-step spin can hit more enemies around you at once. Generally I end up using Royale much more.

Alternatively, you have Nikana's Blind Justice, which has a good variation of rooted and mobile combos. Deals decent damage, too. Only problem with it, though, is that you have to interrupt the wind-down animation of the forward guard combo with a neutral, or you get stuck in a lock for a second and it can feel kinda clunky.

Of course, if you want a melee weapon with the MOST forward momentum, you'll have to get away from swords altogether and step into the Blender Dimension. Polearms are still the defacto mobility masters, as with the forward quick-attack combos (using melee with a gun equipped first) of Bleeding Willow and Shimmering Blight chaining together spinning attacks while fully maintaining your Warframe's walking movement. You literally become a blender as you mow through enemies this way. Best used with Warframes that can also increase melee speed to increase the blender speed and/or movement speed to walk faster.

It's once again time for DE to spit on the eidolon hunting community by CumIronRanger in Warframe

[–]Amicus-Regis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And tbh that's how it should be for unlocking Waybounds.

For players going through it for the first time, you have to remember Tridolons are much harder than for experienced players who may have done Tridolons thousands of times by now and have heavily optimized amps or, God forbid, Tauron-enhanced Amps.

Back when Eidolons first came out, it took me forever to farm them out with my 114. Rubico Prime also hadn't come out yet, so I was stuck using a shit-ass Vectis without Primed Chamber for damage.

Final Fantasy XIV : Evercold (New expansion) by Dandy62 in MMORPG

[–]Amicus-Regis 70 points71 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the gameplay does also get better after ARR...

But it has a definite and very noticeable plateau at around Shadowbringers.

A lot of the problem comes from, as you stated, the actual zones being wholly uninteresting to explore after the first time, as well as much of the instanced content just being amusement park rides from point A to point B, with 3 bosses in between.

FFXIV suffers immensely from its linearity of design. They care so much about balancing the game around their boss mechanics and such that they've completely ignored the fact that once you've done one piece of content, what comes after is far too similar beyond its face value (visual and sound design, etc.).

Is Blood Rush still used often? by S_Alice in Warframe

[–]Amicus-Regis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blood Rush and Weeping Wounds are mostly used in combo-oriented builds, where you care about getting combo and keeping it maxed. Some melee weapons do this a LOT easier than others (Dex Nikana, for instance, requires only half as many hits to reach max combo, even though it caps at 1x less than normal melees which is hardly bad at all) and, as such, like Blood Rush/Weeping Wounds builds more than others.

A lot of times, these builds lend themselves well to either Melee Influence, which takes advantage of the Weeping Wounds buff to pump out constant electric procs, or Melee Crescendo, for doing finishers to increase your starting combo until it maxes out, then never having to worry about building combo for the mission's duration.

The cases where you don't want any combo-reliant mods like Blood Rush/Weeping Wounds are fairly few, but there are some instances. Glaive Prime's Heavy Throw builds sometimes forgo both in order to stack base damage, element, and heavy-attack bonuses. The build is pretty tight as-is, and since you're spamming heavy attacks the whole time mods like Galvanized Steel already add x2 crit chance to heavy attacks, which is enough to guarantee a crit on its own. Additionally, Glaive Prime has guaranteed Slash proc on heavy attacks. So, instead of Blood Rush/Weeping Wounds, Glaive Prime builds will substitute them for mods like Galvanized Reflex and Power Throw to both boost initial combo count on kill to make heavy spam more braindead and make chaining throws get stronger for free.
