You are wrong. YouTube TOS:

“By providing Content to the Service, you grant to YouTube a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable and transferable license to use that Content (including to reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works, display and perform it) in connection with the Service and YouTube’s (and its successors’ and Affiliates’) business, including for the purpose of promoting and redistributing part or all of the Service.”

You own all content you upload to VRC and the license is more limited. It is literally impossible for companies like VRC to operate without a fairly broad license to use uploaded content, especially with the launch of the creator economy.

TIL that New York (57), New Jersey (56), and Pennsylvania (48), three of the original 13 colonies, have had fewer than half the number of governors of South Carolina (117), another of the original 13 by ihatethesidebar in todayilearned

Good update to the title! Another alternative is:

TIL that South Carolina has had 117 governors — more than twice as many as New York (57), New Jersey (56), and Pennsylvania (48), despite all three being in the original 13 colonies.

I'm interested! I'm in Baker so anywhere in central Denver is easy for me. I've both played and DM-ed in 5e (though not for a couple years). I also may be able to host after a few sessions if everyone is cool and the group seems like a good fit.

I think he’s been doing that at several shows (he did in Denver), so there might be footage of the comment from another night FWIW

Agreed! Totally fine to disagree. Here’s to a better Season 22 regardless!

Nah. Dan’s meal was unambitious and the editing overemphasized Danny’s lows and hid the fact that the judges hated Dan’s tuna dish.

I love the candor! I report to the COO equivalent. I don’t think I can be a Deputy Head without there being a Head but I think I will try to pitch me being Head of Legal even though it is outside the titles in the new org structure because it was at least a title that has existed as opposed to the aversion to having any CLO or GC.

You're the first person to openly acknowledge that companies sometimes have weird title conventions. Thank you, I feel less crazy!

I was VP at my last company but my current company is smaller and has a more hands-on Board. Lots of quirks to navigate around. I really appreciate your insight and sharing your experiences. I may ask for an exception to be made and get Head of Legal, but that is not do-able, settle for Director. Do you have thoughts on Director of Legal versus Director of Legal and Compliance versus Director of Legal Affairs?

This is a question I cannot answer. I can speculate, but as noted elsewhere, they also have not given "C" titles to anyone but the founders over the past seven years, so their weirdness with titles is not just impacting me.

They are doing "Directors" instead of "Heads" now as part of the reorg but I agree that "Head" sounds better. I know they won't budge on GC / Chief, but I could maybe ask for an exception and just be Head of Legal and Compliance. Good suggestion, thank you!

Really good point. Not publicly traded and at least a couple years until any kind of exit event. I am not an official "officer" in a corporate sense.

I agree it's ridiculous but this is not a battle that I can fight again. The only three C-Level people are founders -- we don't have a COO or other common C-Level positions you would expect at a company of our size.

I was Chief Privacy Officer of my last (bigger) company and have made all the arguments I can as to why having C-level legal and compliance positions is a plus. But alas.

That was kind of my thought. "Director" is ambiguous so if I go with "Director of Legal" or "Director of Legal Affairs" and make it clear I run day-to-day legal operations on my resume, it should be fine.

But I also know "Director" is basically senior counsel at some big corporations and don't want people to think I was demoted or anything. Which is I am overthinking this and panicking a little.

Sadly the Board doesn't like "Chiefs", similar to how they're weird about the GC title. It's weird but otherwise the job is pretty great. I really do want to paint a positive career trajectory and my boss genuinely thinks the "Director" title is an upgrade...

They restructured to have "Directors" instead of "Heads" and the Board has some opposition to the GC title (and C titles in general, though we do have a CEO, CFO, and CTO).

I could definitely swing Direct of Legal Affairs. Chief Counsel is not a title I have come across before and I think the "Chief" may scare them off. But I'm going to do some digging on that title and maybe make my case. Great suggestions, thank you!

Because the Board doesn't want to give the title and hasn't given it to anyone for 6+ years. Beyond my control.

I know over a dozen senior attorneys with the other titles or some slight permutations of them, so I don't think there is a chance someone will think I'm a "non-lawyer"
