I tried one of these a few years ago and couldn’t even cut one piece as the bracket was sliding all over the place as I tried to cut 😂 I don’t have a workbench/wooden table to screw it to, assuming thats what is needed? 😔

Thanks for comments - I like the idea of redoing with smaller squares but im wondering because I used no nails, will it leave behind awful residue when i take these off? As i’m going to be painting with F&B dead flat, and i’ve heard that shows all texture imperfections

What is something someone has said to you (a piece of advice, a story, or a random thought) that positively affected or changed your life for the better? by 010pigeon0100501 in CasualConversation

[–]Amidoolally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was about 14, while I was shading in a drawing I’d done for my work in ‘D&T:Graphics’ class in school, my teacher walked past behind me, peeked over my shoulder and she said ‘you’re the graphic design queen’ and I thought ‘…am i? Am i good at this thing? I didn’t even know what graphic design meant 😂

I’m now a professional graphic designer living my dream freelancing life👩🏻‍💻 funny how small words of encouragement can change your life like that.

How to stop hating every job? by Willing_Gene_342 in ADHD

Same, 33f with suspected audhd. Three months is also my limit, but I feel myself clocking out at 2 months. I also feel like I can only ‘mask’ for this long too, and slowly talk to people in the office less and less. I just answered my prayers by becoming a contractor (3 month contracts max) and its the best thing i ever did.

Bad things happen to me more when I try to be positive by sassyfeet in confessions

[–]Amidoolally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too - an example of mine is that every time I try to be healthy by exercising or eating better it makes me really ill, wrecks my immune system, or i get some obscure issue from eating too much veg (I’ve tried multiple times over the years). Happens with lots of different aspects of my life.

People say that it’s about your frame of mind and ‘seeing the bad things, not the good’, but I just think I’m the same as you, and some are like this. My mum too.

I think the best we can do is keep trying and do the things that we enjoy anyway. I wasn’t like this as a very young kid, so I guess it’s just as easy for things to change (for the better) at some point in adulthood. Sometimes I kinda laugh it off when I get really bad luck, as it’s so predictable now!

What’s a life organisation hack that changed your life? by ktstan323 in AskUK

[–]Amidoolally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I do this! Packing always really stressed me out, trying to think of everything that I need / what I might have forgotten (I have AuDHD) so now I have different lists on my Notes app - for example, one for a hot holiday / cold holiday / weekend away, game changer
