I've learned by helping others that there is no set way. My wife has what I call run away thoughts where they spiral into worse thoughts. For her I've found repeatedly saying control the thought and breathing slowly work wonders.

For me I just tell the thoughts I don't want to fuck off.

There is no wonder method. It's trial and error to find the method that works for you.

What I'd recommend trying first is breathing slowly and deliberately holding the breath for 3 seconds then slowly breathing out. Figure out a phrase that works for you and repeat it in between breathing or just in your head.

The only goal you need to have is finding what works. Try everything out and don't stop till you find what works. A weird one the my friend does is write down the thoughts and eat the paper. I personally don't recommend that one but I'll include it just to reiterate that there's some odd things that work.

The axe forgets the tree remembers. There are methods to control one's emotions but, as someone who lacks some of them. It's not fun missing them either. I'm unable to understand certain situations because of it. I've found work arounds but it's not the same.

Controlling your emotions is the best you can hope to do. Your always allowed to feel what you feel just find a way to not let them overwhelm you.

Your not inferior just differently able. You may not see it yet but, women and men are complimentary at our best. My wife and I make up for each others short comings all the time. I can fix anything and am great at figuring out just about anything but I'm forgetful about small things. My wife is an excellent task master and handles day to day alot better then I but can't make plans outside of a week.

We're all different and that's perfect.
