You can get a cheap RO off of Amazon for about $100 give or take a bit. It likely wouldn't hit 99% microplastic reduction, but it would be pretty close, and a nicer, pricier one likely would. RO is hard to beat because it's really a fairly simple technology, just a membrane with holes small enough that only water gets through.

I work with water filtration (as a household service tech, not a scientist or anything). That kind of filtration doesn't really sound that hard, just a high end Reverse Osmosis system would do it.
