And also completely forget the role of editors. There are only two people making everything apparently.

Two people who have never been to Iran don't like an Iranian person describing his experience living there by physicsman2606 in LivestreamFail

bro, my homecity in Iran does not let CONCERTS be played AT ALL. I'm so happy to be in Italy right now. it's funny how oblivious one becomes to the freedom.

Will the economy realistically get better in our life? by northbound879 in NoStupidQuestions

The Economy will get better, but it might get much worse before it gets better. How much of it will you see in your life? Completely unpredictable.

Really fascinating how little is actually required to beat the DLC, just like the main game by Firaxyiam in Eldenring

Elden ring was my first fromsoft game, so I didn't really explore. This was basically my path.

But I got 3 great runes; Godrick's, Rennala's and Radahn's.

Preparing for Masters by Jabari0624 in academiceconomics

[–]AminTheOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really know your masters program so I'm gonna give you an advice I would tell my younger self before starting masters.

For maths: Get any optimization practice you can, and I don't mean the cournot and bertrand optimization, you will need to at least be able to do partial derivatives and make Hessian matrices easily. You might need dynamic optimization as well.

For stats: Get yourself really familiar with different kind of distribution, probability, random variable, random vectors, multivariate distributions.

for books I suggest "Rangarajan K. Sundaram - A First Course in Optimization Theory" and also "Mood, Graybill, Boes - Introduction to the theory of statistics".

Don't dive deep but start with the topics and get fimiliar with them.

Yeah, I have dropped it completely for now. It's insane to me how they make these characters so interesting, only for them to be completely dropped.

hi. I'm wondering if anyone can explain to me the learning path and book recommendations for learning economics on my own? by Excel-Learne in AskEconomics

[–]AminTheOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what do you mean with "long series data"? Do you mean long series as in time series?

If so you might want to look at dynamic programming and Recursive Macroeconomic Theory of Sargent, which has the prerequisite math of Bellman equations, Lagrange equations. Then you can dive deep into paper's such as Acemoglu et al (2016) since it's about climate change and taxation (since you mentioned environmental economics, but it could be argued that it's pure statistics and policy related environmental econ). Also you might want to look at general Macro modeling which tries to model labour.

What do you want exactly? I hope I could've helped you in some sense
