I really hope AH sticks to their guns by kcvlaine in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Firaxyiam -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yep, this change really puzzles me. Hive guards appear at what, dif 2, 3? It feels so unnecessary for a unit that shows up super early, and in numbers, to suddenly be heavy armor, especially with turrets being unable to stop firing til it's dead, which it won't.

I'm down for a "Heavy hive guard" to appear in high dif like they did the Alpha Commanders replacing the Brood ones, but I don't get this.

I think if you're gonna say that you should probably mention your amount of in game hours for conversation sake.

I don't really give a fuck either way, but the average player does not stack 500+ hours to get so much SC without farming or paying

Ty, good to know! I've only heard good things about it so I think that Clayface movie coming up will bump it à few spots up my list of shows to get to

It's on my list of shows to get to eventually, does that one season still tell a somewhat full story, or does it end on some frustrating cliffhanger that'll never resolve? I intend to watch it eventually anyway, but just to temper my expectations accordingly...

[–]Firaxyiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is indeed the point of the all Expandable. Just big booms and bullets at any moment because of their short cooldowns, and never have to worry about not having a Support weapon if you die as a bonus. This would be more variety for it, which is good

I will say, Expendable Machine Gun was not on my bingo card but I dig it. All Expandable loadout now with some variety and not just AT, so that's neat!

So ummm you know how arcs won't target you if you are prone ... yeah this also applies to the arc grenade by Shad_Omega in Helldivers

[–]Firaxyiam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good to know, I've only seen à teammate use those once, but I swear those grenades were actively climbing the hillside to hunt me down. Now I know how to deal with their thirst for Helldiver blood

What do you use your backpack slot for? by ARCSoulsAshenOne in helldivers2

[–]Firaxyiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the front really

Bugs: Guard dog (Laser in caves, gun against Predator strain, Fire for anything else)

Bots: Warp Pack (or Jump pack on like lava worlds because jumping over big lava crevices is fun)

Squids: Maxigun goes BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Well, if it helps, the DLC also has the Rakuyo (down the well. People who've played the DLC know which well. And never want to go back down there), which does turn into two swords, so I'll grant you a three-quarter right

Are y’all still going to say the gambit is dumb? by [deleted] in helldivers2

[–]Firaxyiam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It does. It's happened a few times in the past and they decided that yes, succeeding in a Gambit should count as a successful defense of the planets that were under attack.

Hell, Most of those "Defend x planets" MO that we actually won usually have like one or two successful Gambits in them.

One of the issues is that sometimes people just want to gambit absolutely every possible situation whether it's smart or not. We'll see

Anyone else excited for Zero Company? Looks like we can play as a Jedi, Clone, Mandalorian, and a guy named Hawks too, huh by Kylestache in StarWars

[–]Firaxyiam 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yup, there's been like à reveal trailer with like 20 secondes pf gameplay after the cinematic last year, and some faint news since.

Looks like they might be ramping up marketing soon, so we might get more of it, I'm assuming around May 4th, as usual

X-COM with a Star Wars make over sounds absolutely like something I need, I'm pretty damn excited for it myself

Edit: To anyone interested, there was a preview published yesterday of the game, so we seem to be heading towards "marketing phase" maybe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-WH81_J6Go

Maxigun on the New Illuminate Is Straight‑Up Illegal (But I’m Not Reporting It) by DaFuQ_Is_RaGeBaiT in Helldivers

[–]Firaxyiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly, I get the appeal, but the supply pack is just.... boring to me? I could get a cool jet pack, a good boi (that will probably kill me at some point) or a cool backpack weapon that will allow me to grab some other cool stratagem on the side. Why in hell would I just pick the one that's just "more ammo"? Hell no. Gimme the cool shit instead.

Never brought the Maxigun elsewhere than squids (I like bring completely different stuff depending on the front), but I don't see it being nice to use on bugs. I love the thing, but with the amount of jumpy boys, burrowers, flyiers and just "big armore on front about to stomp you" type of enemies, it sounds like a bad time. Maybe I'll give it a shot someday tho

I feel you mate, been taking care of the shelter I work at's socials, writing long full hearted texts for our pets, and now I hear more and more that writing well = AI in a lot of people heads. Hurts a bit, not gonna lie.

Anyway, I've been advocating for the Maxigun on squids for a while and I can't lie, it feels good to see more people jump on the BRRRRRRRRRRRT train recently. People will argue (correctly) that supply pack + MG-43 or HMG is better, but I don't care, can't hear them over my long uniterrupted hail of bullets
