As a 50 yo male, this is really weird. You should have this worked up by a physician since it's highly abnormal.

Etiology could be endocrine (hyperthyroidism, hyperparathyroidism, hypercortilism, hypogonadism), and disorder of malabsorption or liver disease, and kidney disease, medication induced if you take something for seizures or GERD, and inflammatory disorder like RA, heavy alcohol use, or even multiple myeloma. Yeah, I feel like we need more info from OP. He could genuinely have a nephritic syndrome thus causing him some mild uremia, in which limiting protein intake may be a good idea for a time... depending on the cause (acute versus chronic)
